Akrapovic Exhaust with Custom tuned ECU deal/Group Buy ?

New upmap, no new upmap... it is obsolete when it comes to ECU flashing. The way Ducati loads the map is into the ECU, all they are doing is modifying the ECU by flashing it. You can literally do anything you want when flashing. Unlike a piggyback module where it bypasses the ECU and simply tunes its' own fuel, then it matters whether you have the upmap or not.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the Austin Racing and Termi made from stainless tubing? Titanium alloy is usually 50% or more lighter than the same piece made of stainless. They're all roughly in the $4K range and if the AK is full Ti construction, it is most likely hundreds of grams lighter. Seems like a way better value for a much lighter part as long as the power is in the same ballpark. Anyone know actual all up weights for each of these systems? I'd be interested to know!

but the AR is essentially a STRAIGHT PIPE and thus will be significantly lighter than the Akro which has two exhausts terminating the plumbing a la Termi.

The AR is a straight pipe ? Really ? Every picture I have ever seen of the AR shows that it is NOT a straight pipe. Maybe I need to check it out again.

But if it is a straight pipe - then I would really question it's low and mid end performance as straight pipes generally cause those areas to suffer. I don't know enough about the AR exhaust but certainly didn't think they were stainless straight pipes.

Looking at pictures it does look kind of like a straight pipe. Interesting to see all of these get some dyno results for comparative basis. Visually I am partial to the akrapovic exhaust though.

By straight he means no mufflers. The system has one or two baffles that can be inserted or removed at the owners liking. But I digress, this is am AK group by thread, so back on topic. ;)

The AR Inconel is lighter then tne stainless, as it can be thinner for same strength (Inconel is a variant of stainless), and the pipe is straight through, I.e no muffler. Weights provided in an AR post, so may want to verify:

AR 2.6KG
Stock: 10.2KG
Termi. 9.2KG
Akra. 6KG

Yes I knew that (from old Harley days). I was just accustomed to seeing that there was some sort of baffle enclosure there which was what I was referring to. But apparently it was just for visual. It's great that there are so many choices out there. Would love to see what improvements each one is capable of. Outside of that - its beyond what most of us are capable of extracting, which is why I'm paying for a 4K visual orgasm. . .

And if the AR was in Titanium I'd estimate weight to be WELL UNDER 2KG sans baffles. Interesting point brought up about low and mid when there is lack of pressure from lack of cans.....back on ;) topic?

ON TOPIC: if the Akra could be purchased without the (heavy) cans we would end up with titanium AR minus a little length ?????

AR is 2-1, Akra is 2-2, it needs the back pressure or it'll have a big hole in the torque curve right? They look like they tried to stay street legal hence they've used up all the profile of the Termi. AR is basically a race pipe, with baffles.

i SO prefer the AR aesthetically speaking! but then why did Termi keep their CANS for Checa's bike, if we're talking RACE PIPES? must be a backpressure thing, no?

add a "for race use" connecting 2-into-1 pipe for the Akra and exit out a la AR and problem solved. Akra could incorporate back-pressuring bends, mini-baffles into this 2-into-1 straight pipe....but i keep thinking if Termi is using cans for Checa's bike, then there is some SCIENTIFIC REASONING and/or maybe given weight limits they decided to add weight at bottom via cans AND use this as marketing for Termi/Ducati since so many want their "repli" parts????? just thinking out loud....

Its actually less, $3437 https://www.motomummy.com/full-exhausts/ducati-12-13-1199-panigale-akrapovic-evo-exhaust/

Belle has to pay Gunny's salary is why their prices are higher :D (just kidding)

Don't believe everything you read on the internet:D:D when it comes to prices, till you actually paid for it and have received the goods. Keep an eye on it and you will see that it will be changed. There are many shops who took pre orders or have low ball advertised prices and they will all get an not so pleasant wake up call when it comes to receiving the first batch and are looking at their invoice for it.

Bellissimoto has it for $4619, you have it for $3999. I guess they could make the same statement about your price :)

No fight and no vendor slamming at all and there is a very big difference between $ 3400 & $ 3999.00, at least as far as I am concerned.

BM has it listed at the official retail price, if Trauma would spend the few extra moments and read once the item details, as I suggest everybody should before making a statement, then you will see that this is a pre-order special price with no payment upfront and to be on the pre-order list for them with no strings attached.

Once the units are available that special is over.

Does 10% discount for forum members apply to the Akra if purchased from Shift Tech??
