No fight and no vendor slamming at all and there is a very big difference between $ 3400 & $ 3999.00, at least as far as I am concerned.

BM has it listed at the official retail price, if Trauma would spend the few extra moments and read once the item details, as I suggest everybody should before making a statement, then you will see that this is a pre-order special price with no payment upfront and to be on the pre-order list for them with no strings attached.

Once the units are available that special is over.

Shifty - you missed my point. Belle's price point is the same distance from yours, as yours is from Moto (600), so that email could have been from them about you. As a vendor, you should state your prices only, and not talk to others, IMH. But do you what you like.

trauma - very true relational analogy. But c'mon - you know as we all do that MM is at the bottom of the barrel for most things. They are strictly a part pusher for parts unlimited for all intents and purposes. But if they can get you the part - they will be cheap.

The price points that you have to look at are generally the list price and then where the reputable vendors are going to be. That Bellisimoto price is just them listing msrp. If you don't think they will discount that some - you're crazy. I think we have somebody here who will give you a fairly decent discount from them if you want to talk with him/them. My guess is that the price from most of the reputable dealers will be right around 4k. Revzilla even has it listed for just above 4k.

The reality is this - Akrapovic makes a quality product. Generally considered near the top in terms of quality and performance. They don't really have a "bad" product in their line. For someone who doesn't have the termi slips or manifold, and you want to consider a top aftermarket exhaust - one should probably take a good look at it.

If you have the slips or the full system, the justification is much more difficult as you are then replacing something that you already have. But hey - its just the larger more expensive piece of the puzzle, but there does appear to be a healthy aftermarket for termi slips and manifold kits. I have 2 full sets of termi's now for the 1199 and am still going to go the Akra's route. And I'm still glad I didn't wait since last year as I wouldn't have gotten to enjoy my termi's while waiting for the Akra's.

Shiftech does bring up an interesting thing though. Many of these vendors after reaching a certain critical mass, start changing the game (MAP, authorized dealers, limited deliveries, etc). I'm not sure if Akrapovic is there yet or will go down that route, but it does sound like he's hinting they might be going down that path.

Trauma, I simply gave you the information that I have and did not point you to anything that we offer or was trying to get anybody over to us on this, this was not any attempt to bash another vendor at any point. From time to time you will find that sometimes prices don't get updated as they should. I know what the dealer and distributor cost is for it and based on this can tell you what is real and what is not real.

It does not matter to me who offers what at what price but if somebody compares a price and brings this up then I will chime in with any valid information that I may have so some that read these posts do not get the wrong impression. If you are able to purchase it at the price that you mentioned from that specific company then that's great, I simply gave you some information that I am aware of, there have been some big changes within the last 8 weeks in regards to what the actual dealer cost is for this exhaust is and there will be a bunch of unhappy fellows once they realize this and start updating their advertised price. The realization will hit that also some suppliers that you are not even know about, will not be able to fill their orders.

All I can tell you is that this special offer from Redline is right now the way to go as it is real and the included Rexxer map/user unit is a bonus that Redline offers and not an added on cost to the product.

Geesh... Why don't vendors just list their best price?? Why so much game playing... If Bellisimoto have the best price and I want that product guess where I am gonna buy it?? If MM have the best price then they get my biz...
Don't confuse this debate as being one about the product... no one knows yet about that...but getting a straightforward answer on price shouldn't be difficult...

Look out shifty the forum Vendor militia are on the prowl again. :D

Lol... I would term it more as trying to keep Vendors as straight shooters... seems like a better thing for everyone to me??

I will always go with the cheapest price. If I use my credit card, and I know the product, the worst thing they can do is stretch out the order time. Which unless I need it for this weekend, I don't care. MM currently has the lowest price, period. I know Bell could discount, but I wouldn't expect them to lower that low, but then they should post that price or give us a standard discount like Shiftech did (except here for some reason). I don't want to call them everytime I order something to see if they are cheaper. Plus, I perfer using my cc, and they are paypal. Laslty, I was pointing out Bell didn't come in here saying Shiftech's price is too low, blah, blah, blah.

I am all good here:), there are no hard feelings against anybody at all. Many times things get taken the wrong way and just need some clearing up to do.

As a retail customer it's always great to find a super deal on something, I have nothing against this and it's great for others if this information get's shared.

All I was saying is that sometimes things are to good to be true for what ever the reason is, many times wrong prices get listed based on wrong information received. My intent was to give advise based on information that I have that is not available to the retail customer and it was meant to be advise, to double check before getting their hopes up. I don't have to chime in when it comes to these posts, I do so because I believe the provided information may come helpful to other members.

If it ends up to be correct then it's a great deal.

You guys crack me up, always thinking wayyyyy toooooo hard about things that shouldn't matter.

I mean, if motomommy can sell you that exhaust for $3400, and that is the exhaust you wanted, BUY IT!

Trust me, neither I nor shift tech would feel bad about you ordering from them if that was the case. Seriously, from what I can tell, we all want you guys to get the best deals all the time.

Concerning exhaust pricing, a lot of companies won't even post pricing, they just say contact us for price, or some other BS.

Some brands, we do discount to remain competitive, but Akrapovic is a brand that we work directly with, and if we advertised their prices at anything less than retail they would be very mad at us, and possibly cut us off, so if you want special pricing, you just have to ask.

Will I sell you that exhaust for $3400?

HELL NO! It costs me more than that, so sorry, ain't happenin'.

No ....... Who doesnt?? :D

I would like to thank Motomummy, Motowheels, Omniaracing, Carpimoto, TwistedThrottle, MotoradINN, and eBay for using their web pages to promote and price their products without adding to our forum's drama.

One more note, this exhaust is great quality, I've held it in my hands, and examined it's every detail.

It is very expensive in my opinion though, for a system that looks almost identical to the stock, or Termi exhaust. It even uses the same unnecessary underseat loop as the stock, and the Termi. You can get better power, and less heat by eliminating that.

I've ran bikes with Akras before, and I will buy their exhausts for my bikes again in the future, but if it were my 1199 Panigale, it would probably get a Comp Werkes, Austin Racing, or Quat D exhaust first.

I didn't buy a Ducati to look like everyone else who bought a Ducati, be unique, be original, try something outside the box, there are soooo many great exhausts out there, why would I spend so much for this one?

I really want to see what Leo Vince, Double Dog, and a couple of the other companies come up with for this bike too.

Very well said and thanks. I've also had the pleasure of enjoying Akras products for motorcycles and automobiles and the fit/finish, attention to detail, and reliability has been nothing short of amazing.

From Corey at Motomummy after explaining Shifty's statements:

"Our price is correct. They should stick with their business and not assume with us :)"

I ask all vendors on our forum to heed this. Please post in the Marketplace created for specifically you, and stop commenting disparagingly on other competing vendor's products/claims/prices. Especially as they are not here (fortunately) to defend.

You need not respond to this, either follow this or not, just a friendly request. :)

Well said Trauma but as far as I am concerned, anthem has started this post and informed members about a great deal that is available and it was YOU who hijacked his post with stating how much less you can find the exhaust elsewhere, you might want to follow your own rules at the same time. If MM confirmed this with you then great to know and hope it works out at the end all I did is gave you heads up based on information that I have that is not available to the public.

For the record, I know David at Redline very well and we supply him with products from time to time when and if he needs them and he is our contact when it comes to any Akrapovic needs or ECU tuning, so if I feel like making a comment in a post that is about anything that he offers then I will do so no matter how you feel about it.

With all due respect, it is not your place at this time to tell me where and when I may say something. I have no beef with you but I am aware of what has gone around in the past on what you did post and in what content. As much as I am concerned you are a fellow member who shares his opinion and you shall do so and we all respect each other no matter what.

Why do you feel the need to attack people and their views? It is my place and everyone's place (even yours) to say what we feel here. Anthem did not supply a price at first, I supplied the one I had used. As for you, I only asked you not to slam other vendors - that's it. You continue to at you own peril. I have now written you off as a vendor - the way I react to poor manners. And BTW, you are not showing much respect as your "point" did nothing other then start a bunch of controversy, and had no validity on the pricing supplied by Motomummy.
