First Ducati I have seen in a while with a cable operated clutch instead of hydraulic...

I like it. Thank goodness there is a red one. Would hate to have to get a can of spray paint out.

I think lots of people will buy this and put the panniers on etc and go out and have a great time.

I agree. I think there are folks out there who love the "looks" of Pani but not the ergo (unlike us) of riding every day and maybe pushes them to buy it.

I dont ride the Pani every day and so I understand.

I can absolutely see how this bike can appeal to many people. I rode my Panigale quite a bit and let's be honest. Not the ideal day day to bike, it can be done but still. The Supersport I think is the happy middle ground, still have the sport factor with awesome day to day riding material. I think the second gen one is where it's at, maybe the engine out of the monster R, tft display and other goodies. That's the golden ticket.

This.

Confirmed on Ducatis Instagram page this morning. Sure, it will appeal to some. Ugly as sin in my book.
I'll stick with the Multistrada as my dream bike next time I can afford a new one!

If were to judge things by traffic on Asphalt & Rubber alone, the new Ducati SuperSport was the bike of the 2016 INTERMOT show in Cologne, Germany. The return of a cult classic, it seems Ducati has successfully tapped into the vein that made the original so well-loved.

Releasing pricing for the US market today, there might be more to love about new SuperSport and its up-spec SuperSport S sibling, as both bikes come with attractive price tags.

As such, the 2017 Ducati SuperSport will MSRP for $12,995 in the USA, while the 2017 Ducati SuperSport S will come with a sticker price of $14,795 MSRP.

This puts the SuperSport nearly $2,000 cheaper than the Ducati 959 Panigale ($14,995), while it commands a $1,300 price increase over the Ducati Monster 821.

This puts some good distance in price between the two models that the Ducati SuperSport might cannabalize sales from, though riders looking at the Ducati SuperSport S will have to decide whether the couple hundred dollar difference to the Ducati 959 Panigale is worth the gain in performance, and loss in streetability (we’re making this a word).

Ducati says first deliveries of both SuperSport models will occur at US dealerships, starting in April 2017.

what you guys think about the price? Not too bad IMO.

It's similar to the Hypermotard's pricing. Sure, you can buy a 959 Superbike for just about the same price as a Hypermotard S but the Hyper S is the upspec'd (also making this a word) Hyper model now with Ohlins and can still carve a tight, twisty goat road better than most anything. You really can't compare any of the Ducati line to each other once you get away from acceleration and outright top speed.

Thinking about this as a replacement for both my Monster and 959. Hopefully I can sit on it at the Long Beach MC show next week. The test ride is what will seal it for me. Love the WSBK inspired exhaust!

Ducati line up is very closely priced and all are expensive. haha.

I think its fair comparing to other line ups. For me, if I had to choose...the decision will be hard.

I hope the heat will be lower due to this setup, one gripe about my 821 was the side piece giving off excessive heat...as with the 959 the exhaust pipe is under the seat.

The heat I feel on my 959 comes onto my right thigh from the subframe because the engine is mounted to it. For me, the seat never really gets that hot.

I agree. I'm fortuante that I have two other bikes besides my 1199, one of which easily fits the bill as a more practical alternative but still fast and fun - my S1000R (as in "single R"). Yet I also can't help but think a Supersport would be the better fit than the Panigale. But I have trouble coming to grips with going from 195 hp to 113. Get the bike to 160 and add $1-2,000 to the price and I'm seriously interested. Oh, and add cruise control.

I did the Demo day with Supersports S. It was extremely comfortable, QS up and down worked great. Power was useful (not anything wild / little boring) and can see this bike as a awesome every day bike. Overall I liked the bike.
