When I had my Monster in the shop to install the Termi's, I had the canister removed and they put on knock off plates for around $25 in parts; they worked the labor in to the cost of having it in for the exhaust.

I have since purchased the 899 from another dealer and would like to have the canister removed on it. I asked them what it would cost and they quoted me an hour of labor @ $95.

I really don't want to perform the work myself and am content to pay a Ducati tech to do it, but I am not sure if 1 hour is fair. I understand that the Monster removal didn't require taking off the fairings, etc. so I am inclined to go ahead and have them do it. Since it is a different dealer, I am still trying to establish my relationship with them...

I would appreciate your insight.

Its way to easy to NOT do yourself.

You only need a 1/4 by 1/4 T or Y after removing one fairing.

Get in there, you need to know what you have.

There is even pics in the sticky.

Thank you. I will check out the article. On the Monster, they ripped it off instead of just bypassing it and those are the only instructions I have come across. I appreciate your response.

Is this AMS you are using?? or another dealer???

I think if that's all you are asking from them then the hourly rate is fair, if they are putting on another exhaust system then I would say they should include it

I switched dealers...

I bought a replica 1199R that European Cycle Sports made by using the red 899 as a base and adding the 1199R seat cover, R decal kit (white striping and Ducati CORSE decals), and Termi exhaust.

I am adding the CW fender eliminator, Rizoma rear sets, CRG CF shorty levers, and a CF tank protector. The parts are on order and should be in next week.

I got the bike below MSRP, no freight or prep, parts at cost, no labor on the kit or exhaust, and they are putting everything else on for 2 hours of labor.

Even though it moved my purchase schedule up, I couldn't pass a deal like this up.

I do recall seeing that bike a couple weeks ago when I was there. Congratulations man, I hope you enjoy it.
