Anyone got seat-time on a late model KTM RC8 ?

Trans-None got one, think he races it though.
One of my brothers got one too. Perfect bike for the street, comfortable riding position, excellent components, problem free and bitchin' looks. Very usable, linear power; on a start he beats me 3 times out of five because the Pani comes on a bit strong in first and second gear. Once in third prepare yourself to see lots of taillights though.
KTM also makes a spec model which means you get access to a lot of factory racing parts. Aftermarket is pretty thin for that model.

Happy shopping

anybody knows why KTM did not put this flagship up for WSBK, some rules it fail to meet? or no company
budget to race?

Donno about EU or US. The Canadian manager is a racing buddy of mine, and being from MX and having managed pro MX team his main focus is on MX. If you look at KTM managment, everybody is from an off-road background and just look at their results, it's amazing what they accomplished!
And speaking of experience I can say that changing over to the pavement world is everything but easy, the racing community is tight knit and mistakes are costly.
On top of that, sales are going everywhere BUT to the sportbike segment.

I've had a bit of seat time on an early model. Having just got off an 1198 I didn't like it at all. Power delivery was weak, the seat was hard and wide, the plastics struck me a cheep and the mirror vibration was nothing like I've ever experienced before. I actually pulled over to make sure they were securely bolted on. Nevertheless, I'm told the newer models are a lot better, and the overall design is pretty sweet regardless!
