Great Pix!!! thanks!!! my anxiousness GROWS!!! : )

Question: how do the fork adjustments work? Do you need to spin the red nut with a socket, or is the adjustment done through the hole in the center? If the red portion needs to be turned, I would be concerned about scratching the lovely color off.

Yeah the red knob...

I suggest if you don't know much about suspension adjustment yu should do some research, YouTube or consult a tech. Going to hard or too soft can result in major unstability.

I've never had to really adjust any of my new Ducs and I ride pretty hard and a lot of wheelies....with stock settings (180 lbs)

Only time I've HAD to make adjustment was on a used 999 tha would bottom out when I break hard or pull a wheelie...not very comforting lol

So do a lil research before you change your rebound or compression. You also have to know what your wanting, what your looking for. Have to be very sensitive to feedback and in tuned with the bike

Good luck chap

They look really pretty for a rebound adjuster lol! (somewhat better than the 2 tubes of S model?)

Thanks, but I'm good for adjustment - I'm a fairly proficient track rider, so I know the job. ;):)

I was more curious on how the physical adjustments were made. I wasn't sure if they would make such pretty adjusters only to have them scratched up by tools, but I guess that's what it is.

Cheers!

Yeah much nicer than previous models...got the head of the shock exposed and sharp ready to impale you lol.

Everything is sexy about this bike, I actually wasn't even bothered by the mirrors in person and the license plate hanger grew on me :)

yeah, i have to totally agree with you on this. a bit bummed to hear people going on about headlights and mirrors when it's not really what the bike is about. for the street, i like mirrors that work. but to each their own....

in my limited time around the bike and finally getting to sit on one last week, like all the others i can't wait. staying glued to this thread and if I get any info on my here in NY i'll post up. last i was told, next week is still a go.

^ Yup, gorgeous looking machine! I'm used to thrashing my bikes around, and though I fully plan on doing the same with this one, I'm sure I'll be a bit more careful around the garage..ha!

I'll probably keep a bunch of the stock bits on until the end of the riding season. Changing them out will give me something to do during the long winter here.

Nyandy, yes keep the forum posted.....I assume you go to Rockwells or Moroneys, would that be right?

I haven't been to Moroneys but I've been to Rockwells very many times.
Are you a Bear Mtn regular?

will do Steve. Please, I don't mean to be a jerk here, but I could tell you a horror story about Rockwell and me "trying" to work with them. They are currently holding my deposit and will not return it until they sell it.

i'm a business owner and a real reasonable and respectful guy (at least I believe so).

i would rather never ride a motorcyle again then buy a quart of oil from Rockwell cycles for how poorly i was treated.. anyway I won't get into it. my bike now had to come from Motofit in CT where they will actually speak to you when you walk in.

yeah man, I'm at bear all the time. I've ridden HDs and chops since I was 20, but love all bikes. Just offed my 46 HD knuckle engine and beloved Hyper to get a base / abs....

alright who gives a .... about all my nonsense.... we should line up for a beer at bear.

(off topic) Hey, for you NY guys, does OCC still carry Ducati? Or was that short lived? If they do, does anyone have experience with how they were as a dealership? Just curious.

no. they pulled the plug years ago thank god... stay clear off that place and those bozos. that place is a ....... circus act.

Nyandy, sad to hear about your Rockwell experience. I've had good experiences there albeit they are a tad bit slow to get things done....they have a super laid-back approach to everything there. I've heard the whole shop has had personel changes from mechanics to parts guy.....there's a new salesgirl that seems pretty nice.....other than that it's been ok for me there.
I've been to Motofit before in CT and seemed very nice but very small place....I think they sell KTMs there as well.
I ended up buying my 1199 at GoldCoast out on long island as they gave me a fair deal for a cash purchase and my buddy buying a tricolore helped as well....his purchase was cash as well.
It's weird being a NY rider you get a sense of what dealers are pleasant and which won't be.....I've been to CT and NJ to buybikes as I didn't care for certain NY dealers......attitudes run the gamut here in NY and I'm sure due to phoney buyers they just tire of the stories and promises and hence the cavalier attitudes towards new customers.
Anyway, can't wait to get my 1199 but it hasn't arrived at the dealer yet and I don't really know when it will.
To the guys that have theirs.....enjoy them.....tons of us are still waiting and we enjoy he posts from those that have received theirs.
Cheers guys-

Just got confirmation from the dealer (Rhode Island) that my Standard ABS shipment has been confirmed - that means it's currently on its way and should be here as early as next week.

My dealer in Kansas City, MO also got shipping confirmation for my bike today. Looks like Ducati's schedule from the memo a month ago is holding true

^ Question for you two: does that mean your dealer was able to provide you with the VIN for your particular unit?

My dealer just informed me that they received confirmation as well, however, cannot provide a VIN until just before it actually ships. I guess I'm just wondering - how long does the voyage actually take? Ha!

I am guessing they don't get until the bike shows up at their door. I didn't ask for a VIN but did ask how long it typically takes after being notified of shipment. He said it has been as few as one or two days when they show up at their door but usually not more than a week.

^ My dealer said that the VIN is in their system prior to delivery, but no biggy - I'm just happy to hear that the wheels are turning. It's our long weekend the one following this one, and it would be quite nice to have the bike at that time. That said, I'll be cautiously optimistic. :)

From what i have heard bikes arrive at New Jersey port and then get on a truck and distributed throughout the states. Am not sure about your case since you reside in Canada. Your bike will most likely arrive at a local port facing the Atlantic and from there depending on how far your dealer is arrive in a couple days. 1 week max i would say.

Hope that helps
