Picked mine up late afternoon yesterday. I got a quick 100+ mile ride in. Too soon to give you my thoughts on the bike.

50 miles after work.

So far...

- White smoke on startup
- 1 random engine shut off when coming to a stop
- It's so hot when riding under 60 MPH. Need to watch this and see how it goes. It's uncomfortably hot.

Ducati 1199.

I keep getting told its arriving got rid of blade 3 weeks ago waiting for base with abs. Also started paying insurance on Ducati don't know what to do.

I like the shiny carbon myself. If I ever get my bike , I plan to add a few bits. Hopefully someone will come out with the shiny parts. Otherwise I'll have to have some clear-coated.

I'm sure they'll be available in both finishes, certainly shifttech will have both.

Motowheels can even get the carbon fibre bst wheels in gloss or matte finish, man if I had a spare 4k!

I have the base model. Picked it up on Saturday.

I have the base model. I picked it up on Saturday, and I'm very happy with it. I bought the base model because I could afford it but also because I don't like the wires coming out of the front forks on the Panigale S. I bought it without having a chance to take a test ride on any 1199. I based my decision on the Panigale S reviews that I watched on YouTube. At the moment I don't know what gas mileage to expect and I haven't been able to set either of the "Trip" meters to determine my own gas mileage. I don't like the heat that comes straight up from the curved exhaust pipe - although it's not big deal for me - and I don't like the harshness of the ride - which I should be able to adjust. I still have to hold the bike to under 5000 rpms - I'm in the break-in period - but it's fast enough even with that restriction. It's a great looking bike, for sure. I recommend buying the "rear paddock stand" to go with your bike. The paddock stand makes it easier to check the oil in your garage. I haven't heard from my neighbors yet, but I expect to. On start up it is noisy.

Is your rear suspension set to F or P?

Man, that pic of the one on the lift is the cats ass... Question can you get a base with ABS?

Finally had some time to take some better pictures for those who wants to see real life shots of the base. Good luck to those who are still waiting. Now back to trying to knock out that 600 miles.
