Thnx for the info Chuck ... wish Dealerships could give us more info instead of keeping us in the dark as much as possible. But here's a question for you ... you say they are held in NJ which is where they come in and they're shipped out from there (NJ) to specific dealerships ... so how does a guy (on here) get his base bike in NV and someone like me right here 3hrs away from NJ, bike still has not reached the dealership yet ..

Per the last official ducati letter from March 15th here you go:

Please note that these will be
delivered in order of priority of pre-sold units as noted in the dealer manual

Their dealers placed orders before your order. Every statement in that letter has been true to this point.

that last question makes Chuck statement very suspect haha.....by the way....people waiting for their "S" models....i have seen so many delaers with unaccounted S models on the dealer floor....such as mine

Hi guys,
I'm a new member but I pick up my base +abs on Monday from riders in bridgwater(uk).
To say I'm a little excited.....

Different trucking companies. All bikes cleared customs, were moved to the warehouse and were ready to be shipped at the same time. No delay with clearing customs, as sometimes happens. There were also S/S ABS models included in the shipment, so those waiting for an S / S ABS should get theirs too. Sometimes a customer that lives closer to NJ won't get their bike delivered to their dealer until after someone living further away does. Depends on their route of deliveries. Sometimes a load of bikes can sit on a truck for days as drivers drop off and even pick up other deliveries along a route.

Won't go into the "delivered in order of priority" to prove a point, but will tell you that the northeast region received the majority of S and Tri Panigales just prior to 4/27 (the unveiling). Those bikes were allocated based on expediting delivery (closest to NJ)...same as UK gets bikes sooner, and NOT based on individual pre-order dates. If you think that if you live in timbuk2 and placed an order before a guy that placed an order with a dealer that traditionally receives higher priority allocations you'd be wrong. Larger dealers do get priority when it comes to allocations. From the dealer level, yes, you'd receive your bike in order of date placed (but even that isn't entirely always true, since a very good customer can bump others even if the good customer placed their order afterwards...of course a dealer isn't going to say, hey I bumped you because this other guy gives us more business or we know him better or like him more, but of course that can and does happen). I've personally had it happen and also been given priority for service work too. Same as I don't tend to pay for much in the way of service costs. People ask, what's the cost of a service or oil change. No idea. For me it was free. 998R race ECU was free, never paid for a dyno run or remap ever, merchandise no charge, gloves gratis, etc. Depends on your dealer, but point is, some dealers ARE given more priority than others. And also some customers are given priority too.

Someone asked if Ducati reads these forums. In short, answer is usually no. Used to, but it became a barrage of fielding complaints and trying to sort out what is true vs. what is forum fodder and rumor. Even when given the info. as directly and truthfully as possible straight from the horses mouth, people STILL form their own opinions of what they THINK is true and start debating what is being told to them. Also, DNA would like customers to deal with their respective dealers and doesn't want to circumvent that relationship, which is why most information is routed to the dealers who then pass on the info. to customers. On behalf of Ducati and Ducati North America, your patience is appreciated and you'll love your Panigale. ;)

Both, VC and Tahoe. I pick it up today.

I'm seriously jealous. Even though I've left a crumpled CBR on the side Geiger Grade to VC, be careful. :) (I picked it up later after hitchhiking to the hospital, i was young, haha).

I got the call my bike Base+ABS shipped on the 17th, should arrive by the 23rd, also received a vin#.

Hey allesisvoorbassie,

Love to know your opion on how much difference there is between your 848 and the 1199.
Especially in tight twisty roads and traffic.

Cheers

Carl,

They are only available in white but I wanted something special(for where a 1199 isn't :)) so I had it painted before delivery!!
Compared with my 848 this bike is really light to ride its just like my 125cc bike the time i was sixteen!!!it is really easy to drive,I know one thing for sure this is like a rocket!!did open the trottle at once and it freaks me out!and no smoke at all when starting up:):)

Its worth waiting for sure!
