Debating with hypotheticals is just that . Your safe with your hanger .

I've got to chime in and torture you one last time Wilkson. There is nothing hypothetical about it, the RSV4 is the proven better all around bike...get over it man. Your one of those guys that will take anything positive in an article or review about the bike your not in favour of...and say it's meaningless..but in the same breath..if a review is positive in favour of what you like..well then it's gospel. Forget the lap times...then...fair enough. You're gonna tell me and the people on the forum the 1199 is a better street motorcycle and daily rider...cmon..you know it's not true. The Aprilia is a way more liveable motorcyle, and you know it. Reviews have to be taken with a grain of salt..I totally agree. However, there are too many to say the Pani is less than great as a street motorcycle.Even a broken clock is right twice a day. There are people on this forum, that can't live with the bike..they all wrong too? Be a little subjective and not dismiss every opinion other than yours. Not everyone is going to like the same bike and there is brand loyalty and all that stuff...I get it. I guess all the positive stuff written about the RSV4 is meaningless cause Wilkson in Australia says so. High level racing means nothing...only Wilksons "feeder" series in Australia means anything. Get over yourself buddy...the Pani is a flawed bike..on and off the track. I'm pro Ducati...I spent my hard earned cash on the 1199 and I can call a spade a spade. I've had both bikes and I'm not saying everyone should like the Ape better. The duc is the nicer looking bike and there is something special in ownership of a Ducati. But to sit and say it's a better racer or street bike is total horse crap. I know that you know that to be true but are spewing crap and can't come to grips with it, so I'm no longer reading the post, save you're breath.

Relax buddy you didn't invent the bike . I just gave a opinion as did you I just didn't agree . Thanks for the laugh fella.
Actually your right in away . I guess I was just refering to my lap times around a track and not being quicker to the shops and back as in your case .
So I guess you might be right the RSV4 might be better for that . On the point on being subjective I think you will find I said they are all great bikes with good points and bad for each looks subjective to me . Go on read my post .

Yes the R is going to be my new race bike bike for our feeder series .

Hahaha!

What did you change on your base to make it more track-focused? Suspension? Intake/Exhaust?

It's interesting that you're getting the R because the only advantage I see for a track bike is the upgradability of the motor. I don't think the DES is necessarily an advantage at the track unless you fall within the parameters of the adjustments as the bike comes from the factory.

It will be interesting to watch your transformation of the R to a track-focused weapon.

Hey Brad .
I think you were asking me a question .

Yeah sorry buddy re the shorthand "W" for Wilkson. Be keen to see how you go with it. Good luck. Mate of mine races a Trumpy speed triple in the BEARS and I sometimes go to Eastern Creek to watch him race. I would love to have the spare cash to run a 1199 or 1198 around the track just for the fun of it. Trouble is guys on 600cc bikes would probably beat me. Must be great fun though. Let us know how the new R goes and would be good to see some pics of the build.

I had a plan to rebuild the motor of the base but not for HP I was chasing longevity regarding conrods . What I had planned was what the R motor is so it was just easier to buy the R .
I will set up it the same a the base the only difference will be using the Superstock headers over the standard full system .
I am expecting a motor that has more mid range and will spin up quicker .

Will do Brad . The series is growing pretty good we had 27 starters in F1 at our last round a mixture of Ducati Aprillias and Bm's .
EC is our last round so maybe see you out we are up to Darwin next .

I have just sold my base and bought a R model . Will be fitting the superstock Termi headers to this one so an looking forward to the comparison .
and see im still jealous....lol but still congrats

Thought it was posted before. There was also a big caveat to the whole comparison btw:

But I think almost every review is worthless. What a skilled test rider or motorcycle reviewer with years of experience can do on these bikes doesn't mean chit to me. I can't replicate their efforts. I don't have the skill. So the fastest bike Hodgson won't necessarily be the fastest nor best bike for me. In fact, based on the majority of the ride reports I've seen, it definitely is not.

I agree with you. Using a review to pick a bike for lap times is pretty pointless....its all about bragging rights when we are at starbucks with our machines...."RSV4 won more comparos than the Duc did" kind of stuff...

but they are fun to read and watch....take it at pure entertainment and not much more....

it's all in good fun. RSR's a good egg, anger management notwithstanding. and hell, he could probably bench press this whole forum!

but i really am starting to suspect that Frosty's got Aspergers :D

We're trying to ignore that whole exchange, hoping it will just fade away - thanks for stirring it back up  :D

Yeah it's fun to watch videos of someone rippping the track with my bike. Wish I had free track days, tires, gear and a free bike if I wreck out. But it goes past that too.

What are the maintenance costs? What she like when stuck in traffic? Parts availability? Theft rate? Curb squirrel appeal (dammit they need this rating desperately)? I live in Philadelphia. So how comfortable am I gonna be during the 1+ hour ride to some decent twisted roads? Cause it doesn't do me any good if I'm beat to chit by the time I get to them.

If I want a track weapon, I'd have bought a $17k 2013 s1000rr instead of the $27k HP4 Carbon I have and used the 10k saved to make it into a track bike. Because track based reviews don't represent my style and comfort levels.

Otherwise my bike has multiple roles to fill and reviews rarely touch my purposes
