^ I chose the Akra route....the bike sounded like a mix of part car and part offshore racing boat.

Wicked

I was a fan of the Austin Racing it sounded insane .

"Das Motorrad" German Review:

Wet weights:
Duc Panigale S: 195kg
MV F4R: 211kg
RSV 4 Factory: 209kg

(Ape has the largest Tank 18.5L vs 17.0L for the others)

Power figures (measured):
Duc Panigale S: 190 @10600
MV F4R: 187 @13200
RSV 4 Factory 183 @12800

Overall the RSV wins the test and is fastest on the race track. Testrider was a former WM (supersport) rider.

*points to pic a couple posts up* - maybe so, but it is definitely uglier than the Pani or the HP4, IMHO, by a big margin. I'd get one of the other two before even looking at the Ape. I daresay almost "busaish"..

How dare you...:D

Ape is way better looking and about 2/3rds the size of a Busa...

lol.. ok, everybody has their own opinions. You must be the kind of guy that will take a tuned Civic with a grapefruit shooter exhaust over the 458 Spider. :)

Lol.. Well the Civic fits my budget better...:D

I'm sure in the right hands you can make it run circles around a Ferrari, but I sure wouldn't want to be the one driving it. Maybe I'm more of a form guy rather than a function guy. :)

Were you not buying a GS650?? :p

and again, put gp exhaust, integrate run lights into blinkers, lose the mirrors and the Factory looks badass!

the swingarm on the Ape is functional, as is the frame...why you think Ducati has similar for GP bikes?

Its a no brainer.. that whatever bike I choose that isn't a 1199 is going down in the looks dept... But Ape is up there ..imo.. when viewed overall... I know Frosty can find some ugly ass angle and show a pic but I find looks grow on me with reliability and other attributes.. It could be likened to the really hot but flaky annoying chick compared to the really pretty girl you know will never leave and isn't in any way capricious...

There is no right answer on this... But its very intriguing to me to see how positively the Rsv4r is viewed...on a Ducati forum..:)

I agree. When you take looks out of the equation it changes the whole decision process. If you look at reliability, "easy to live with" factor, economic value, etc. etc. it's quite a different end result.

i genuinely like the swingarm on the ape. and the frame, i saw a bike with carbon covers that made it disappear into fairings, almost like those frameless bikes ;)

but in the end the Ape looks better from the angle when you sit on it and ride :D

I bet the frame doesn't burn your legs either. I wish the Panigale was uglier so I could make a more rational bike choice. :)

Hey when riding my 1199 you do feel the lower weight and the quick steering but for what it's worth I reckon this is a factor that contributes to its unstable feel. Yea the ape feels heavier and slower turning but man does it handle oh boy.

Lucky me has both but if I need a rush its my ape that wins, man do I grin when I blast through tunnels with this sound track.

I have the austin gp2r
