Aprilia RSV4R Factory versus 1199

i believe if one were to fight a cop for that kind of ticket, they could win.

in nyc cops thankfully don't just only eat doughnuts, don't fine you for jaywalking and generally don't mess with motorcyclists. you should see the RoughRiders coming down an ave on Sunday -- no helmets, no plates and wheeling doing stoppies all over the place and cops just won't mess with them.

wow, the cops don't pop you for improper display of a plate?

velcro=light, super strong (never had a plate fall off in years of riding), and for nyc a must -- i take my plate off when i park on street.

Got one better for you: 3M Dual Lock

Use this stuff for mounting lap timer beacons to my track bikes, hell strong and doesn't wear out like Velcro. Cheap on eBay in the few strips you'll need.

Dual Lock Reclosable Fastener :3M US

3Mâ„¢ Dual Lockâ„¢ Reclosable Fasteners are a fastening solution that can replace screws, bolts and rivets. The fasteners contain hundreds of mushroom-shaped stems that audibly "SNAP" together to form a secure attachment with strong adhesive backings that adhere to your substrate. Adjust, realign or reattach with ease, leaving your product with clean, smooth lines free of holes or interruptions.

Per earlier request, see pics below (if I loaded them correctly).

2012 with 700 miles. Forged Aluminum wheels (and Pirelli Supercorse tires) from the Factory model; very nice rearsets (don't know whose - GP shift), Akropovic slip-on and race map (not unlocked yet); Ohlins steering dampener; light smoke double-bubble; 15T front sprocket; Woodcraft clip-ons, mirrors removed and blanked, CRG bar ends installed; front turn sigs wired into front running lights; tail tidy with integrated signals.

Rides very well. Small and easy to throw around. in my opinion every bit as aggressive as the Pani on acceleration. Very smooth shifting. First thing i did was remove right side fairing to check water levels - way easier than the Pani, and no sweating while trying to avoid breaking off those flimsy tabs. Coolant drain on left side is fully exposed, no fairing to remove. Coolant change will be a breeze. Overall, very pleased and absolutely no regrets trading the Pani for this bike. Should make the ideal track beast with good street crossover. Oh, by the way, after 2 hrs riding I had no sore hands or neck - that's a first.

that bike looks fantastic!

congrats on the smart upgrade ;)

and no bar-end weights? pretty good...

there was a guy that mounted "mirrors" on the backside of the block-offs and i thought that was best solution to date. he would look between his arm and torso.

Bummer...Rescheduled???

Different dealer, so no need to schedule. If I'm not slammed at the shop this week, I'll try to get out there. I did go there Saturday and talk with the owner and sit on the bike. Can't tell much from just sitting on it. If I like it, then have to decide on Factory or R.
If I don't like it (seems pretty unlikely), off to the BMW dealer and ride Mr. Ugly!!

It'd be nice to have :

RSV4 Factory
1199R
HP4 Comp
oh and also an F3 Oro

ahhh yes my dream garage. The pinnacle of each engine type.

I'd have to replace the hp4 with the k1300s. You need a slightly more comfortable bike for those 1000 mile day trips.

See for me I'd want the compromise between best looking and best performing - -

V2 - Panigale
V4 - Desmo
I4 - MV Agusta F4rr

Can't argue with those choices either....

although I wouldn't want to pay for service costs on the desmo!
