AR Inconel Install

It was just reflective heat tape. I even layered on like 5 more layers. And it do anything but melt to my AR exhaust and I can kinda scrape it off but it's burned in. It scorched a chunk in my fairing.

I think you should just sue AR, that seems to be their answer to things they don't like.

it appears that AR owes you a new fairing. not that i'm intimating litigious innuendo :p

and i deduced INCONEL may have just run cool enough?

No, my ducati dealer/mechanic has been in the biz while he was in the womb lol. He's a really great guy and couldn't do anything about it as it was just how the AR mounted. There is literally no way to move it. It sat really high and made a contact with a large area. I've attached photo's.

Another Troll...:D

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :)

It doesn't look that bad though and I can see the entire length of the pipe. I do also have this to add. This mofo is HOT! The heat radiating from the loop hurts. It doesn't heat your butt but on the outer portion of your thighs. The heat was irritating me so much I didn't feel the heat from the rear cylinder head. Today's weather was 60-68F and if I was going at least 60+ and had temps around 170F or below I didn't feel it. City riding is not fun. Sitting in traffic I had to put my toes on the right peg and lift of my thigh so I couldn't feel it so much.

Not sure if I remember him saying the Full Termi heat shield fit it? But a heat shield is definitely needed and I let him know that.

Read my previous post heh. Inconel cools down really fast I'll give it that but run cool? Nope. I'd say if it had a heat shield it'd be on par with stock heat.

Understood. I am sure he is a great guy and has many years of experience. But if there was a clearance issue, why would he just let you leave with it pressing against the fairing. Even with a bad fitting exhaust, remove it if there was a clearance issue and contact the manufacturer...

I'm just looking at this logically. Spend $3.5K on a part that fits incorrectly, then leave it to cause damage to another part valued at ~$1K... Doesn't make sense..

The original claim was less heat with Inconel then stainless. Which is totally untrue, it just cools off faster because it doesn't retain as much heat, that is one of the reasons it is good as an exhaust pipe. AR did say they would supply a heat shield if ncessary (ha), but remember, there are no mounting holes, so I am not sure how they will attach it to the bike

Dude .. I am using AR's definition... Your doing great as far as I am concerned... This is great info... Where's Rich??

awesome! thanks for clarifying ;)

so inconel will burn your fairing, but for a few minutes less upon shutting off engine! okay so uh........

with all the collective time and energy wasted on this thread, enjoyable as it's been, i think we're now prepared, and better served, to design and market our very own STRAIGHT PIPE SOLUTION! Seriously, like i posted while back, the Pani NEEDS BACKPRESSURE!

They said they could attach the heat shield to the frame in that area.

So, has anyone actually weighed the system? It is still lighter than the competition right? That may be the last of the claims still intact!

Aside from the melted fairings,it does look good though.

This is now the second longest thread on the 1199 forum. The only one longer is the Panigale Picture Thread!!

That is purposeful, it becomes one with your bike!! Not melted fairing, fairing meld! :D
