AR Inconel Install

Of course, believe me I'm not taking any of this as gospel. I'm just saying that I know there are some people with termi's that were considering a new exhaust. This would cause them to take pause... That's all.

Ahhh...... the full Termi system is only a few Benjamin's short of $4k.

Agreed... but I am not advocating buying that either...:p

Not just pause I hope.... I mean unless something changes dramatically why would anyone spend $4k (cough) on this product???

Well, I'm not really questioning anyones desire to buy it, just trying to put the other products in a fairer position. Maybe the Akra is a good solution for some...if it ever comes out;)

Fair comment... I am prejudiced here..I will admit.... AR oversold this and did some competitor bashing at the same time.. so I think its only fair to question this product..;)

I might try the RB module just for the sake of testing, after all what's another 640GBP between friends!

Looking forward,to giving you some more insight shortly.

I just installed the rapid bike module with the AR exhaust.

The bike is now un rideable due to what appears to be a serious starving issue.

Rich has always been great to deal with and has asked me to connect to the software and switch off adaptive mapping as the first step and hopefully last.

Hope that fixes things, will post back later this arvo.

This was a little disappointing as I thought the module came ready to plug in and already mapped for the AR exhaust.

Also, I rang just about every tuner in Sydney and know one is willing to do a tune for me with the RB. Hope this setting fixes things so I won't need to tune it, we have no local support here.

I still think its a bit too early to make that claim and i personally haven't read any posts by Rich bashing Termis or any other system. Lets hold judgement until WA is able to get it properly tuned.

What reason are they giving for not wanting to tune with the RB unit?

Well I am certainly not going to troll thru an infinite number of previous posts on here... But I sure remember AR saying some less than stellar things about Termis...

Can you purchase the super stock system from any dealer? That would interest me!

Pro Italia lists the superstock headers on their web site. When combined with the slip-ons the cost is in the ballpark of $4600.

Here is a copy of the email I got from one of our best tuners.

The Rapid product disappeared from the local scene some years ago it had no back up or support working for it, so I've had nothing to do with it.

Do you know if it will allow tuning in the closed loop section?

If not there will be no fine tuning.

I sent a link to dim sport website tech page.

Hi Nick

I've had a quick look at that site and can see nothing about the Penigale and as usual nothing about back up or support, sorry mate but I would not be spending my hard earned on it.

Regards

The only issue I raised related to the AR's exhaust was their claims vs Termi at a time when AR did not have a product in the market that could be independently verified. For that I got a flaming from the AR fanboys and others.

I also commended AR on the looks of their exhaust product based on the images posted. I still hold the opinion that the AR exhaust is quite a feat of engineering and design.

Feel free to re-read my comments and the flames that ensued and you be the judge.

I am very respectful of the time and effort and openness that WAFatboy has displayed in sharing his early adopter experiences. WAFatboy's statistics are very valuable as are ScrapperX's factual independent data.

There is a lot I could say about this now the facts are out and doubly so to the AR fanboys, However I will leave it at this .. I trust that AR does not give up on the engineering.

Strange, I just got the full Termi system and paid way less than that. Some dealers have had them in stock for a while and will sell at near their cost just to move inventory. Sent it out to get ceramic coated and then it will be installed by the dealer, still paying less than retail for it all. Also got the upgraded carbon fibre heat shield at no charge and I keep my warrenty.

'Before' AR dyno

Rich - do you still have the dyno of the bike you tuned to get 190hp with just the AR system fitted and no mapping or RB module, so basically in the same state that mine was yesterday when we fitted the pipembutnwith no work done to it?

Dude..

I remember AR giving you crap.... they don't look so clever right now do they??
I still prefer your bike hugging avatar fyi..:p

Get in contact with Motologic in Melbourne they are using the RB .

Not sure if that would be the best route to take.. I think the guy's in Syd. by the time he flaffs around and finally gets a tune he'd be much better off time and money wise to ditch the piggy back and go for a direct tune of the ECU.

I'd wait to see how WAFatboy goes and if the TB product works then that would be a solution.

I would agree hence the reason I have avoided using a rapid Bike .

I'm a big fan of CaliDuc, he has a wealth of knowledge and i value his opinion greatly. However, flames from AR fanboys are not the same as flames from Rich at AR. I don't have an AR system nor do i plan on purchasing one in the near future as my Termi slips are perfectly fine. But i applaud AR for being the only exhaust manufacturer to post on this forum and allowing us to not only provide feedback before the system went into production, but allowed us to ask questions and get meaningful responses. How many times has Termi or AK posted on this forum looking for feedback and offering sneak peaks at their systems? How many times have they posted test results and dyno runs? Just say'n.

There's validity to what you say... to a certain extent.. but... Did AR tell the truth?? Ask Waf...

Personally i don't think we have enough info to say. But time will tell and for the time being I'm going to give AR the benefit of the doubt.
