Im sure it has been asked but any reason you opted for the S over the R since you are getting your moneys worth.

I'm now happily married to Dennis' ex girl friend and we have 2.2 kids.......only kidding!! :D

Congrats on the decision man. I'm sure it will be an epic trip. Will you make Sonoma on the 8th? I'm all booked up. If not make sure we do breakfast before you leave. Matt.

Dennis,

Good luck with your trip. We are lucky to have you as most of us get the chance to live vicariously thru you! Keep your bolg going and let us know, (if you make it to our region of the world) what we can do to help.

Be safe,

Have to head back down to LA unexpectedly, but I'll be back up later in the month. I'll keep ya posted. Definitely want to get in another couple of track days before I'm off....

I take it if you are going to LA you are still working. Are you going to quite cold turkey or try to do a little while on your way?

Either way, best of luck on your trip and look forward to following as always. Please keep the food reports coming...

Ok guys, it's been almost two years since I originally set out on an open-ended journey across North America on my Panigale that never really ended (I'm still bouncing from city to city, still don't have a permanent residence, and my few possessions that don't fit in a backpack are still in storage). The inescapable lesson I learned along the way is as follows.

The road to enlightenment isn't paved with sensible decisions; reason is not the driving force behind destiny. Bliss will never be the end-result of routine; happiness never the end-result of habit. Only one force has the power to change life: passion. To live the life we imagine for ourselves, to become become who it is we know we truly are, we have to make a choice to take risks and act on desire.

Bliss, to me, is the thunderous rumble of a v-twin startling a murder of crows from a wheatfield into a bruised sky on a desolate road. The sight of an IT Performance Suite PowerPoint slide will never send shivers down my spine, never increase the overall value of anything in my life except my bank statement. I embrace sacrifice and am prepared for whatever struggles might come my way. If I want to find my true destiny, abandoning my career and braving what could very well be tumultuous seas is mandatory. The threat of failure is no longer a satisfactory excuse for remaining ashore.

Without an income, I intend to paint and write my way around the world, traveling to all the strange, sublime, random and glorious places my Panigale will take me. I'd much rather barely eek out a living sustaining myself with my greatest passions--motorcycles, prose and painting--than live a very comfortable life selling analytics software to Fortune 500 accounts.

My next adventure, "Around the World with an Italian Supermodel," will soon begin once I figure out the final details. Hope y'all are in for the ride of a lifetime....

Best of Luck Dennis and don't be a stranger. I imagine no doubt that you will return from your journey and go work for Ducati NA ;-) .. Probably a good topic to have over a beer with I.

Dennis, for any stop in south west Germany (mainly around Stuttgart), (fast) riding on awesome roads and dining I can hook you up with my old buddies. All duc fanatics and track junkies living the life without compromises... Lemme know!

Phl: I will take you and your buddies in Germany up on that offer for sure.

Caliduc: let's shoot for that beer when I come back to SF later in the month.

Outhouse: I'll try to stay alive, but being careful always seems to lead to injury.

Sloopy: Meeting on Monday. I'll be working 'till April probably....

A real life Then Came Bronson, with Emerson thrown in. I look forward to reading up on your new adventures, good luck and happy trails.

My mechanic has really challenging arthritis, his dream was to travel the coast roads all the way round England Scotland and Wales. He often said this when he came to my house to work on the bikes. I said "Do it soon Dennis before you can't" he came back said the wife won't let him go it alone on his little Honda AKN 125 in case he met with an accident, but non of the guys wanted to accompany him on a 125 . So, said I "lets do it and raise some money for charity"
It's still makes me smile years later it was fantastic! We laughed and laughed

carole timms is fundraising for County Air Ambulance Trust

Many wonderful people gave us free accommodation /food along the way so Dennis come and stay with Michael and I if you get to the Uk I have many friends in plenty of places Scotland Wales London, Liverpool etc and we are in the Middle

You are a Legend!

the SF crew should give this guy a sendoff when he's back in town.

Dennis, I admire your sense of adventure and willingness to pursue your dreams. Tough call for many people (I've only made incremental steps myself). Good luck!

Duchess: Many thanks in advance. I will most certainly take you up on your offer, Carole. Great story, too, though I have to agree with most of your mechanic's friends--a 125 around England, Scotland and Wales? Brutal.

Gigantor: No need for a huge sendoff, but a meetup when I'm back would be pretty sweet. I would think I should know more than one other Ducati rider in the Bay Area since I have pretty much lived there my whole life!

centeroff: Bronson + Emerson = hilarious! Thanks.
