Response
Rich I assume you are referring to me. I've been balanced all the way, and my last post detailed what I think IMHO should have happened from the outset to avoid all of this and avoid you pain, it wasn't an attack.
1. So when you were being harangued by others for requiring the return of the broken part I posted this in the interest of balance:
As far as I'm aware the defective part is being replaced not repaired, and I am expecting it this week. I sent the broken pipe & bracket back to the UK on that understanding. Given that mine was one of the two mentioned (and as far as I'm aware, the first) I thought it would be important for AR to be able to examine the problem so they could engineer a fix.
It's not convenient returning a largish part but its not the first time that I have been asked to return a product I have bought because it was defective, it's fairly standard practice.
2. Or this when the slagging was still flying around a week or so ago:
My replacement pipe is being shipped shortly, and the much anticipated heat shield will be coming with it. Again in the interest of balance its worth noting that AR have been straightforward to deal with and are being responsive to my questions. I feel Part III coming on.....
And previously:
Tnanks for the update. So far AR have been ok to deal with for me also, despite the incendiary approach on this forum.
3. I can't be accused of slagging the product either
...... with the extra HP we tuned out of it before we discovered the break that puts us at 195hp. When we get the replacement part back I'm pretty sure we'll be able to get rid of that dip in the power curve and the wrapping of the baffle should nicely round off the sound. You gotta be happy with that! Rich reckons it will ship end of this week so should be on the road the following week!
4. I've said much positive stuff including:
....I still prefer the aesthetic, the sound, and the bike is running better than ever thanks to the tuning work of ProTwin and the Tuneboy software. Initially I considered swapping back to the Termi slips but I quickly realised that I genuinely didn't want to. If something else were to fail then it would be a different story but for now I'm lovin the sound of this visceral monster (or at least I will be when I get it back on the road/track)
Or this
Makes me realise how good 'the exhaust that shall not be named' makes the bike look, and feel much lighter.
Or this:
Took the bike to the track last weekend, gopro so not great sound, and I'm taking it real easy as it was the first time out there but you get the idea. If you can live with loud pipes then it does sound unreal, no arguments. I'm trying to source some trackside video from a mate who was trackside.
So...
I've posted a bunch of other positive stuff, but I've balanced it without how I feel, which is my opinion and comes out in discussion which is what this forum is about. I've never slagged your product or service and I'm entitled to say what I like. I disagree with the untuned claims but other than that I've got what I bought, knowing I would tune it properly.
In relation to our email exchanges I keep it business like because that's best. I suggest we leave it that way.
