You may find a clear screen more beneficial than the tinted one!
I presume you have the footpeg position at the lowest and furthest back?
And your clipons, do they have a good offset? I think Spider do a 45mm offset, which helps great more room on the bike.

I have a clear, we’ll mostly clear windscreen that will go on with the track fairings next week.

though to be honest, I’m big enough that even in full tuck I’m looking over the windscreen not through it so it’s not a big difference either way.

yes to foot pegs, no to clip on offsets, I didn’t try them yet over concerns about reservoirs already being a very tight fit.

but for sure I’m going to try to configure things to get a bit of a riser in there, one of things affecting my form is that with my height I catch myself leaning more downward on the bars to turn instead of pushing the bar forward before the lean to turn in.

Woodcraft makes a bar with a riser that should raise my hands up a bit so I end up with my fore arms more parallel to the ground rather than at such a downward angle. This will reduce my bad habit of putting weight on the bars by leaning down on top of them, and make a better angle to push the bar forward to initiate turn in.

I took my tank extender off but that’s going back on too to keep me further back on the bike and open up my arm angle

I’ll check out the Spider clipons too.

I’m close to your size, 6’2” and about 235 lbs without gear. Getting tucked on any sport bike is a challenge, but I find the V4 to be one of the roomier ones. On the straight I try to lift off the seat and push back so that my butt rests more towards the top edge of the rear pad. Still feel like I’m too big for most of these bikes though!

Edit: for reference I have my rear sets set in the furthest back and second to highest setting. I would like to go higher, but my knees disagree.

Love that article, might have to reach out to the guy to figure out where he got his larger fairings….I’m having the same problem on high speed straights where the wind grabs me and wants to pull me off the bike, and unsettles the bike under me.

One VERY interesting bit that I got from that article, is that extra weight HELPS grip in the corners instead of hurting it, in cars I can see how thattrue, but on the bike I felt like the more in leaned over the more my weight would push the bike outward on the curve instead of down and make the contact patch work harder to stick.

but it’s just the opposite, the voodoo physics of motorcycles strikes again where up is down and down is up hahaha

who’d a thunk that the bigger and fatter you are, the worse you are on the straights and the better you are on the curves lol

being A fat ass might ultimately make me pass some of you guys on the curves lol

25 stone. A holy ....!!! A man's man. must have 5 stone balls too....

man as far as I’m concerned anybody doing that Isle of Man TT is a better man than I’ll ever be, I’m cool with pushing hard at a track, but on that IoM course one mistake and your life as you knew it is over one way or another lol

Reactiveparts.com sell superbike fairings for the V4, they are wider than the V4R fairings.

Are you still running the Foggy livery? The newer V4 fairings are a whole new ballgame with aerodynamics. I used to fight the wind as well at top speeds, but on the V4 with the wide fairings, not an issue any more. ..or what RickD996 said.

I'm glad someone confirmed a suspicion I've had cornering with extra weight. That's crazy. I always felt more traction in corners with a passenger, but it's hard to compare not riding as hard with a passenger. Thought maybe it was just extra confidence with a clinging chick on the back haha ha.

I have these to put on, but last Saturday I still had the Foggy livery stuff on there, hopefully when I get the race fairings on it will be better

Well, she’s in the shop.

When she comes home she’ll have new fairings, the H20 Radiator with fan provision, Pierobon extended swingarm, linier rear shock link, upgraded clutch slave, upgraded rear brake MC and caliper to WSBK spec., Sparks WSBK Exhaust, WOOLICH Tune and Tuning harness…..my Ohlins FGR 108’s are not here yet, nor is my rear Ohlins GP shock that’s custom valved, so those my have to go on next shop visit.

My D-Air Dianese suit finally got here after 6 months lol

went a little off script and got it done in red with silver metallic leather, because apparently I’m fashionable enough to want to match the new bike fairings haha

geesus I gotta get faster in a hurry on this bike if I’m gunna show up at track looking like this lol
