Your description of your muscle memory rejection of the new arrangement was perfect. Since I have a lot of seat time on beltdrive superbikes my struggle is the inverse of yours.

Woot!!!

In a stroke of extreme dumb luck, I called Kramer today to ask about their GP2 890 RR. Lead times, availability etc.

Those entire allocations of inventory for the year are usually sold out immediately, but it’s free to ask.

A guy canceled his order after the bike already made it to the US…so one just happened to be available for delivery within weeks, not 6 to 12 months…I bought it on the spot.

Brainard Black instead of that cool blue color but I could care less about the color.

That’s awesome!

I saw one at the end of last year, had a sit on it and was seriously tempted.

Congratulations and I’m looking forward to hearing about it!

Very cool. Light and plenty of motor. A true weapon it'll be fun. Your panigale will forever feel like well a panigale. 80 lbs utterly transformative. I remember riding my friends 250 2 stroke GP bike and then racing the 916 in the afternoon. Really fun choice.

Glad you made it out and fun to roll with you for one session 🤙.

Will be at the next SoCal round on Sunday, hope to see that Kramer rolling out the back of your truck.

Feb 4 my next day at Chuck, not likely the bike will be here by then but here’s to hope, it’s in the US but hasn’t arrived at Kramer USA…at the port…will be a week before they get it, then they’ll need a week to prep it and spring it for my size and weight, then has to be shipped to SoCal, I figure 3 to 4 weeks.

So a touch more luck of the Irish, I don’t have strong feelings about the color of the bike, but prefer the blue color way of the GP2 890RR over the Brainard Black version. But Brainard Black is what they had available…apparently there is another guy taking delivery on the same shipment that preferred the black, so we did a win win switcheroo.

Because the bike comes with Brembo Stylema calipers I COULD use the Sicom Rotors but mine are 330mm and the Kramer uses a 290mm sized rotor, I know Sicom makes those, hoping the 290mm size is easier to get than the 330mm are.

And I’ll want my Index Finger rear brake setup on there.

Neither of which are needed on this bike, it’s 313 pounds wet.

They send it to you prepped with the spring rates set right for your weight, so all you have to do when you get it is set the SAG and damping. Other than those two purely PREFERENCE items, I literally don’t see a single thing I want to modify on that bike.

The main modification will be to your brain when you clamp the brakes on the first time and realize you shoulda waited another 30 yards.

Haha yeah that makes sense. Gunna take some calibration for sure, and then more calibration to go back to the Panigale, but I think I’ll progress faster as a rider even so going this route.

I plan to ride most of this season on the Kramer then switch back to the Panigale, but since I have time not needing the Panigale for awhile after the next couple of track days I think I’m going to put the V4 25 Anniversario 916 back to mostly stock and sell it, and get a 2024 V4R….because all those trick go fast parts I bought for my current bike other than the Pierobon Swingarm will transfer directly over to a 2024 V4R without a hitch. The new tank, my brake setup, my suspension setup etc. Almost all of it will transfer easily to a 2022+ V4R.

If it were me I’d ditch the Panigale platform and focus solely on the Kramer. You’ll make the biggest riding skill gains on that thing than any V4 (even a highly customized one). Cheaper too

Swing arm will fit

Steven has yet to realize his Panigale track days are done. The V4 is faster in a straight line but it's going to feel like a wallowing...

I dunno man, I’m in love with the Panigale engine, yes the whole platform is savage, and keeps a newer rider from progressing as fast, but it’s precisely that Savagery that keeps me coming back for more. It’s like climbing a mountain because it’s there, and you NEED to lol

Looks lovely - will be a lot of fun!

Got this cool bit of kit in for the V4, will go on the V4R when it gets here.

V4Evo/Sitta super lightweight sprocket and carrier setup, about half the rotating mass of my Superlight kush drive quick change setup.

It certainly looks lightweight. Any worry with ditching the cush drives?

Assuming/hoping the transmission is robust enough to handle it, but also assuming that the sprocket and probably the chain will wear faster, which I’m okay with.
