I didn't even know that was a thing yet. I'll have to buy one when they are available in the US. I think ima do the Tech-Air10 setup, I want that hip protection for my old ass.
And I think they surely had time to work out the kinks they had when it was 1st released.

I had one and didn’t like it, aside from it being glitchy. Really uncomfortable when you take the top half of your suit off between sessions and the back protector drags down and pulls the neck against your throat.

It does, but I have too many helmets now. I just bought a RF-1400 in March of 2023, but I don't like it for street riding. With the visor up there's kind of a whistle from the center mounted retention piece. I have an Arai Defiant X which doesn't have that problem, but the visor latch is super annoying.I think I might get one as well.
Their Supertech R10 looks interesting as well.
I've heard that before about trying to get a suit over a Tech-Air 10. I'm not so sure on the airbag built into the undersuit thing. It looks like the MotoGP system have Tech-Air 10 coverage, but are fully integrated into the suit.I have never seen anyone be able to pull there suit on over a Tech Air 10 setup, its like having a diving wetsuit on under a suit - its crazy. If you can't pull your suit on without help it's a problem. It has always bothered me that Astars pinnacle suit // airbag setups used by Moto GP riders are not available to general public. Have you ever seen MM or Pecco unzip their suit and have scuba setup on underneath it? Or even the original front fastening under vest thing? Nope...
Putting that Sicom setup on the Kramer really doesn't make any sense man. You really don't need to do anything to that bike - just go ride it.
I have an Alpinestars Atem V4 suit and it has hip protectors, not air bag, but something. I never take off the top half of my suit either, as it's the hardest part for me to get back on. I just unzip the chest and sleeves.Okay so what’s the go to solution if you want hip protection too?
I have a pair of AS shorts that have robust padding but I find the restrictive to movement.
You aren’t the 1st person to say that, and if it were just about lightness I’d agree, but my reasoning is I want a similar brake feel as I’m used to, and will have on the V4R when I switch back to that. I’ll run the bike as it comes with Z04 pads, or likely switch to the Vesrahs as they have a bit more of a progressive bite and are easier to finesse in trail braking than the Z04’s, But even if you take lightness out of the equation I like the performance of the Sicom rotor and pad combo more than I like Z04 and TDrive steel rotors, The Sicoms have just as much stopping power, but the much lower initial bite than then ramps up quickly helps keep the bike more smooth and settled in hard braking, and easier to modulate into a corner.
The bike will be here a month or two before the Sicoms, so there will be several track days to see if it’s good for me as is, or maybe just putting a set of Vesrahs on there.
So it turns out that I can use 330mm Sicom rotors and pads on the Kramer that comes with a 290mm rotor. Kramer USA has a spacer for it, and the wheel Kramer uses, the Dymag, uses the same bolt pattern and setup up for the rotors as the KTM 1290 Superduke which is available for Sicom fitment.
A little odd anomaly of both the KTM 8C RC and the Kramer GP2 890RR is that you need a special pin to lift the front end up to put on warmers and they stopped making that pin. Luckily a buddy of mine that has an 8C RC had several of the pins machined and can get me one, or I’d have an issue using tire warmers on the front end.
Nice geetech stands. Wish they were more readily available… If you have a rear gretech do you notice any flex/instabilty?If you mean the under headstock pin, I find under fork stands much better for getting my front warmer on. No fiddling about getting the pin into the headstock or scratching the front mudguard. Obviously not suitable for all maintenance tasks, and you need both long term really, but 3 seconds to lift the front in the pit garage is so simple.
