Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone has tried the hand held flasher on a V4 with a full AKR system and the up map?

Interested to know about this

Especialy about drivability on track

I mean, I don't want a tune that just works for 1/4 mile times or for highway street races

Hello all,

I was planning to create a new topic for this post, but since you beat me to it, I just had the chance to ride the V4S with a stage 1 Brentune. Absolutely unbelievable improvement for just an exhaust and a flash. Rideability is excellent and is actually smoother than stock at gentle throttle openings. Compared to my stock V4S, the power difference is hard to believe. I will be upgrading to the Brentune this month.

Props to my friend Troy Gleason for letting me ride his bike and offer some opinions.

Thanks for the kind words, Ben. I just got an account here if anyone has any questions regarding the flash at all.

Just want to ask about the rev limit option

What does it mean?

Stock, 14,500

15,000

What I mean to say is why choose the stock over the 15k?

There's no reason. Just wanted to give people options as some aren't looking for a track monster and a higher rev limit may scare them off the product. It will not hurt the bike at all and unlike the akra flash, this is 15k in every gear.

Hey thanks for the feedback. The question I have is how the Brent tune with AKR system preforms, when compared to the AKR full system with the up map. Love what you guys did for sure but riding a bike with stock system and no tune vs. a bike with a full AKR system and Brent tune had better be a huge difference. Just added the ARK system and Up Map is huge. I'm trying to see what the tune does when you already have the full system and up map and if that’s worth the investment.

does the BrenTune do realtime AFR adjustments? or is it a fixed map?

I had the akra up-map with full system before the brentuning flash. In terms of power, the brentune is a noticeable upgrade to the akra up-map. For any of you that are unfamiliar, the akra up-map with exhaust is a very nice improvement over stock and if brentuning wasn't a possibility, I could easily say the best option. The brentuning flash adds on top of that even.

To get the best comparison I wanted to do a stock vs exhaust and brentuning so people on the fence about exhaust due to fueling issues or a check engine light and can just how big the difference is between the two.

Also keep in mind that this is pump gas vs pump gas. If i were to do the video on the MR12 map, it would have been even more crazy of a difference.

Just like the stock map, on open loop it has a set map in mind and will adjust based on feed back from the O2 and knock sensors. In closed loop (wide open throttle) it does not read and adjust from the O2 sensors. This is the same for the stock map. The fueling is much improved with the brentuning map to make a smooth delivery of power. The throttle limitations have also been removed so the bike doesn't feel like it's laying over up top. Overall a very nice improvement.

No idea haha. That bike is pretty much on the edge as it is. If used for track duty, they recommend changing pistons every 1500 miles

That and seemingly frequent valve inspection/adjustment is exactly why I'll pass on the R. Seems like more maintenance than there is enjoyment

First I've heard of this, my valve service is due at 15000 miles on my V4R. Nothing in my book before the oil change service at 7500 miles.
