Everyone throws all this terminology around like they know what the heck it means. No disrespect to anyone but you are going to need to do a little basic homework in order to identify what it is you hope to achieve by altering the OEM engine management configuration in the bike that you have. Most of these "maps" unless specifically done manually via a dyno or manipulated through auto tune are canned (copied) from someone else. You could have 4 flash products from different companies all using the same flash/map. The problem has always been the end user has no idea what the stock map looks like and no idea what the up-map, flash, remap etc look like and to add to the confusion, 99% of purchasers have no idea what the engine mapping nomenclature means anyhow. I have seen first hand now a couple of "maps" that were a re-canned" Akra flash. Nothing more. So when you buy a tuning solution, how do you verify what you received? In the case of the 99s the ignition mapping and the fuel mapping do have to factor emissions. Factoring emissions, the factory tune makes compromises and in the case of the 99s, the bikes have stalling issues among other things. What the factory up-map does is factor the changes that the different exhaust system has on the fueling. It is not some super tuning upgrade. The Bren tune for the 99s at least the ones we have looked at make changes to the ignition map. We could not tell that any of the fuel mapping was different comparing the OEM map to the Bren map. With these ignition changes, the bike for sure runs better and has been cured of its stalling woes but it is definitely not optimized from a performance perspective past that. Did Bren actually build that map? Who the hell knows. I believe the adaptive tuning is the best solution hands down if you really want to optimally "TUNE" your bike. You have full access to graphic representation of your base map and all the subsequent changes that are made both statically and dynamically and you can build as many maps as you want and tune whatever variables you want when you want and best of all, you own it. If the business model warrants, Woolich would probably build something. With regard to my personal experience with Bren, I bought their stuff. I used their (or whoever) maps a a base map for my Woolich build. All I can say from my experience aside from what was already said about the map itself was that Bren was a bit disingenuous in its representation of its products on multiple occasions. Nuff said. I have moved on. I still use the Bren box (repackaged and sold for a lot more) to look at any diagnostic codes but I am now suspect there as well. I will be doing some tests by purposely faulting some things and see if the Bren diag jives with what we physically do. Stay safe, wash your hands
