BrenTuning Flash Development (Tech Talk)

just a couple more options for numero 2

2: handheld, Dyno tune, install new ECU, send ECU out for flash, or add on hardware to “trick” the ECU

Good write up. Bren seems to deliver on the ride ability, removing throttle twitch and overall smoothness and refinement across the whole rev range

definitely the easiest way to go unless it locks your ECU

Brentune made my bike run 11.5 afr on top. Not so good made less hp than my R1m with a full akro

At 11.5 it should be smooth and fine, just down on power. That's really rich for NA. It should be around 13.

TB is a pretty good product. Its just Wayne is hit and miss with his after sales service. The cookie cutter tunes are fine, but really need dyno time to tune, especially the QS. 3x Throttle profiles & 3x map selection plus cruise control is pretty good. I still use TB cruise control even with Rapid bike on my 899

Did you contact and ask them to correct it?
Long story - they asked for the dyno jet run files ( a file that the dyno makes when you run it) which I supplied to them for a number of runs. They then asked me to make a run with my bike stock ? so that they could make a comparison. So they wanted me to change my bike back to stock Really? wasn't that what they should have done when they developed the flash.

why don’t they have the stock file ? That makes zero sense .

Sounds like they don’t have it , by you suppling these files would then allow them to make adjustments by guessing on someone else numbers to only resell their flashes... very dishonest and hope I am very wrong .

I don't know if there is anything nefarious there. They could be asking for a stock run on the bike to ensure there is not something inherently wrong with the bike. If the bike is off from what they would expect, they would want to know that the issue does not exist in stock form as well. A tuning rule is to make sure the bike is working properly and you are not trying to tune around an underlying issue.

However, if you asked them to adjust their tune based off the the info you gave them, they should have. I have yet to see anyone give hard evidence that they actually are capable of supplying custom tunes on the V4 (AFR was off, they adjusted tune, and then dyno showed that AFR was now improved). Simply too much hidden with the brentune without customers dynoing and really providing the hard evidence they are supplying a quality tune that actually corrects AFR adequately. You are an example of where you proved the tune was off based off of dyno data, but it was never fixed.

The OP demonstrated an issue and a fix, but it is all off of "feel" with no dyno data to prove how good the tune is (AFR or HP). --- sorry, not OP. I'm talking about the person where the bren flash appeared corrupted and didnt work and bren was able to send them a flash that did fix the problem and made the bike run good.

I am buying a new v4s with full akro tomorrow. I am looking for a better tune compared to the akro map and good lord does reading all 27 pages of this kind of make me not want to own a ducati at all

Y’all every heard of forum moderators here? I used to be into the LS1 scene and moderated some forums. .... like this past 27 pages would have been shut down quick. I mean comon allowing vendors to trash each other, really?

If moderators starting chopping up what people are saying I'd be outta here fast!

I have an expensive bike just like everyone else on here loaded with high end parts .

I want to hear the raw truth what people have to say and make my own decisions that work best for me .

If this is too much for you to handle maybe this place isn't for you .

Sure. If you think this back and forth is the raw truth you’re living on planet delusional. This is nothing but different vendors fighting for dollars.

You are probably right, this may not be the place for me. Was hoping to find some useful information, clearly won’t get that here without sifting through mountains of .... first.

As to what I can handle, internet warriors i am more than capable to handle, in fact it’s ok entertainment sometimes. Just would be nice to able to find useful info effectively.

Look into a T-800 from Termi. You have two maps, the Performance one which gets rid of the emissions compliant dip below 7k and really smooths out the throttle. Bike will start and idle better, take off better etc. Its free with the purchase of the T-800, the physical device used to flash the bike. There is also an Mtorque map which removes the torque limits in the lower 4 gear. It really unleashes the V4.

The T-800 device can also read and clear some engine codes. It will turn off the servo error but won't reset service indicators.

I’m curious as to how this compares to the DTC EVO 2 ECU upgrade available via Service Bulletin. Not the 2020 Evo2, rather the track only Evo2.

Anyone on here running the termi slip on?? This forum is so much better than others, glad I signed up today.
