BrenTuning Flash Development (Tech Talk)

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I saw that SBU used Motech in their build videos. The cost is way up there though. All in I think you can get a base V4 for the system cost. I like the idea of a wideband system but its cost prohibitive.

The Dim Sport does have limitations, it doesn't access everything. SLR mapped me a quick action throttle, and fuelling maps. But either he couldn't, or wouldn't, adjust the traction maps. So, maybe the velocity stacks aren't available with the software too? He was able to adjust the rpm limit.

The SBU guys didn't even bother they went with the Motec stuff easier to tune. Woolich doesn't want to spend the money/time. They didn't even get enough return on what they invested into the 99 stuff which works phenomenal.

I agree , I am also a woolich
User and in my opinion the best versatile software , Incredible tech support who responds same day to any ticket inquiry.

My 1299 has incredible power, throttle response, it's one of those things you need to try it to believe it.

I've also used tuneboy and Brentune , both of those don't compare not even close.

I’m currently waiting on the base map from bren for the SF. I will report back the process and how its going

also he wants me to pull the black box fuse every time i flash the bike, at first i went hell no what a pain in the ass but it took a whole 5 mins of my time. I’m extremely excited to see if he lives up to the hype like he does with the bmw guys

we shall see dyno testing coming soon

all tuning platforms have some sort of limitations. With dimsport it seems anything outside of the engines configs, isn’t possible. So if you think bren can dial in the traction control like Cobb does it’s not going to happen. Honestly it would tickle me to see more tuning support for the euro brands in general. Someone like bren could definitely make a market for tuning the traction control systems as an add on. Kinda like when you car has a stand alone transmission ecu like most DCTs do. There is a huge market for DCT tuning

Not everything can be tuned by the ECU. As for the V4 Panigale, the electronic gearbox (up/down shutter cut off time etc ...) and traction controls are managed by BBS. DUCATI's V4 machines are smart. The DUCATI V4 can't really perform without BBS tuning. The EVO2 from DUCATI Performance is a good example. It's just that if you want to stick with maximum speed and horsepower, whatever you use, it's all about comparing acorns.

Using a program from Italia Rexxer, I rewrote both the BBS and the ECU. The data is the same as the EVO2 from DUCATI Performance.
The ECU has been rewritten with D2630U1IABACL1 for akrapovic full exhaust and the BBS has been rewritten with Number67 (slick tire version). The dash board has not been changed, but the difference is only in the appearance and the function itself is EVO2 from Performance.

The blen system uses a POWER GATE 3 based terminal, so you should be able to access and reprogram the BBS depending on your programming. Dimsport trasdata should have that capability too.

Black box system
Bren has me pull the fuse when i flash the bike, not a big deal but shows nobody but ducati can get into it
You can buy the bench tuner option from dimsport or alien and you can break into a lot on the ECU and tweak almost anything. Very pricey though to buy, at least 3k and you need to know what you’re doing.
