If you can have them send the graph from both the same gears it would help. It's concerning that they picked different gears for before and after. Very odd.

If you read my previous posts carefully i asked them to do that because they said 5th gear may give me 1 or 2 more hp than 4th gear. It ended up being almost 2hp gain using 5th gear.

Ill post both 4th gear pulls next week if i can find time to go to the dealer and get another printout.
 
I'd like to see you do a dyno run on bren, then a dyno run on akra and post the difference. Same day of course.


I have not seen bren post from their dyno stock exhaust stock tune then same day the graph for stock exhaust bren tune.

Another option is a drag race with the above bikes, do a few runs, swap bikes, do a few runs, take the average and compare.

I know that an independent one is coming, but why is this comparison not the first thing you see on their website?

Last, why is this flash 1300 dollars, is there something more better than a cob tune for a subaru or a panigale 1199, etc? How do canned tunes cost different, is it the Ducati tax basically?

I couldn't get the AKRA tune unfortunately. I bought my exhaust brand new in box but my dealer is stupid and didn't know how to link the exhaust code to my vin. They gave me the ducati service bulletin and it basically states that i have to make my bike into a track bike and trailer it to and from the dealer to get the AKRA upmap installed. When looking at bren, i figured, more power and i don't have to deal with all that towing back and forth.

My dyno pulls were done bone stock, and then a few weeks later with bren, akra and sprint added. 5hp gain.

Curious if you had added just bren. Negative gain? Shouldn't just the akra with no flash at least produce power over what the stock flash could offer? Peak power isn't the entire story though, did the bren flash broaden the power curve?
 
I have no experience with Bren, but I will say my local tuner has ripped out more than a few Bren tunes due to unsatisfied customers. All were happier with a custom tune.

Personally I’m not a fan of RapidBike either. I have seen more than one harness with reversed O2 Sensor leads.
 
Sharing my customer experience first contact with bren.

Bought a used brentuning device from a trusted forum member , programmer needed to be sent back somehow jammed in programming sequence with my 1199.

Bren told me 295us to fix issue , they have had it in their possession for 6 days I sent them 2 emails and one phone call hopes with update.

Do you think they returned an email or phone call even tho I am a new potential customer ? They were quick to charge me 295 while I was on phone with them.

I sold my rapid bike due to all the reviews about their tune what .... customer service.

I prefer dealing with a company which treats all customer equal irrelevant to how much they spend.

If the programmer is F?!#$D, No problem
, show me some respect with an email or call I will move on or buy a new device.

so.. friday was the dyno shoot out... any word on when the 'results' will be posted? I see you are riding around the new V4R as well, any idea when a tune will be made for that?

I am sure we all want some real world data, with seeing real world dyno charts (not just a new graph made, actual dyno runs with knowing what has happened).

We have one customer on here stating a 5hp gain for $1300... bang for buck isnt there, so lets see what this past friday shows

Working on V4R which took a crap on friday (clutch master). Scheduling again for this week as they really want the V4R on the dyno. I can show the message thread with them if there are doubters here.

5hp is just peak gain and dyon'd in different gears. There are many other advantages you're choosing to overlook.

so wait, you had all the other bikes on schedule and you held off the much anticipated dynoing for a bike that the clutch master went out that wasnt in the dynoing anyway?

we really just wanted to see before and after and you spoke it up that it was happening friday, we dont care what bike it is with, just a stock to brentuning is all we care to see...:confused:

oh well, maybe next time.

Motorcyle.com wasn't interested in doing just 2 of 3 bikes then taking more dyno time the next week for one bike and different day results. Pointless. It's funny because the stock v4s just got the master replaced one week ago due to the same issue.

Hopefully they just refund you since you are not happy and they produced no product for you. They will prolly sell this unit to someone else and double dip lol

Just so everyone knows who you're dealing with installing tunes In your very expensive bikes. I have never been treated this way from any company till now.

Yes they refunded my 295 - I told them
To keep hand held it's just a brick to me and useless , why pay for return shipping, cut my losses move on .

In the end I am pretty disappointed - no tune - ...... running bike - lost money .

I popped in to see if Troy/Bren finally posted up those 10% peak hp gains that are promised. I see the train wreck is still on course lol. Carry on.

It's all good. Your dealings with them seem to mirror most. Funny how now they're getting screenshots of this thread. I wonder who could be sending those?

Same gear, 4th. 5hp gain was in 4th gear. 183.4hp to almost 189hp. An additional pull was done in 5th gear and was almost 190hp. So 1 more hp being in 5th gear than 4th.

Ill post my graphs soon so there isn't any more confusion on my 5HP gain.

Tell me what parameters to run the test and I'll stick to that. Yes, I get a free flash out of it, but I'll be paying for the Dyno time. We can close this case once and for all. I dont need to compare it against a V4R or anything. This is just to show that the flash will improve the bike with no other changes.

My bike does have the sprint filter, but not the crazy 200 dollar one.

Seems like this won't be allowed.. the original post took a base stick bike and put it against a S with an akra, filter and a tune... to show how great the tune was.

Your offer would make too much sense.

You never got a tune. You bought a used handheld from someone else and sent it to them to flash for your vin, right?
