I could of lied and said not me however I'm an honest person.

Just so everyone knows who you're dealing with installing tunes In your very expensive bikes. I have never been treated this way from any company till now.

Yes they refunded my 295 - I told them
To keep hand held it's just a brick to me and useless , why pay for return shipping, cut my losses move on .

In the end I am pretty disappointed - no tune - ...... running bike - lost money .

Working on V4R which took a crap on friday (clutch master). Scheduling again for this week as they really want the V4R on the dyno. I can show the message thread with them if there are doubters here.

5hp is just peak gain and dyon'd in different gears. There are many other advantages you're choosing to overlook.

Same gear, 4th. 5hp gain was in 4th gear. 183.4hp to almost 189hp. An additional pull was done in 5th gear and was almost 190hp. So 1 more hp being in 5th gear than 4th.

Ill post my graphs soon so there isn't any more confusion on my 5HP gain.

Again, I offer my stock v4 with no mods or exhaust up for an impartial review. Ill dyno it at Ducati Detroit with no flash, on video flash the thing, and then take another on the dyno. Tell me what parameters to run the test and I'll stick to that. Yes, I get a free flash out of it, but I'll be paying for the Dyno time. We can close this case once and for all. I dont need to compare it against a V4R or anything. This is just to show that the flash will improve the bike with no other changes.

My bike does have the sprint filter, but not the crazy 200 dollar one.

Seems like this won't be allowed.. the original post took a base stick bike and put it against a S with an akra, filter and a tune... to show how great the tune was.

Your offer would make too much sense.

You never got a tune. You bought a used handheld from someone else and sent it to them to flash for your vin, right?

The programmer jammed in mid Tune and need to be unjammed as what they told me.

I emailed a few times and called them a few times in the same day and wow did I get a scolding... never did that again . I let it ride .

After the programmer sitting there I already had a bad taste and feeling about them , not responding to my emails I posted my experience regarding my thoughts .
Instead of calling me to resolve the issue Bren snipped my post sent it to me Asking if that as me if so to take a hike . Lol.

I never denied what I said and now lost money ... no programmer . No tune.

I ended up buying a T800 yesterday with hopes to get my bike running better.

Terrible!

How did they find out who you are? Are they a member of the site but just lurk in the background? Very odd

Hopefully they just refund you since you are not happy and they produced no product for you. They will prolly sell this unit to someone else and double dip lol

No I have my own section here and chime in as needed, BrenTuning - Ducati Forum. I didn't want to come into this derailed thread but here we are to dispute Al's post unfortunately. The rest of this is just trying to tarnish a product which we have spent a ton of time on and regardless of improper dyno testing showing "low" HP numbers, every single customer is happy with. Odd how that works right? Ed trying to steal the tune to show what we "do or don't do" is also interesting although he purchased it for a 1299 not a V4. I digress.

Al has emailed me numerous times regarding tuning his bike. In May he asked if I had any deals going on to which I replied yes we have a 15% of Memorial day sale putting the price at $675.75 USD. I had a phone call with him regarding this. A few days later, he emailed in and said he bought a used handheld from a previous customer and was getting an error trying to load it. I informed him that he had to pay to have the device remapped and that I would have to issue an erase credit from the old VIN so he could tune his current bike. He said OK no problem he didn't have any other options. I asked what he paid for the used handheld, and I'm not sure what guise this was sold to him under, but with my remapping and what he paid, was well over the cost of the new handheld from me.

Al wasn't charged $295 to fix the handheld and he knows that, Al was charged $295 to map for a new bike per his invoice and our discussion. Selling of handhelds unfortunately isn't as easy as just plugging into the new bike and loading the tuned file like a Cobb AP. They are all custom setup and the tuner is paid per file on my side and the handheld is also VIN locked. So unfortunately, I have to charge to remap for new bikes. This was no issue and Al understood. When he went to read the bike the handheld jammed up, no idea what happened but I asked for some additional info which he provided so I could open a ticket with alientech. During this process Al called me 5 times in a row while I was on an international call and I did not answer. In addition to the 5 calls he also emailed me twice. After my call he was emailed and I said I had a ticket in with Alientech and was waiting on the next steps. All of this happened within a 4 hour window.

The following day when I heard back from Italy, I instructed Al to send the handheld in. He shipped it to me and upon receiving started the dialogue with alientech that I needed to get his issue corrected which involved a remote log in session. If the issue was unable to be resolved I was going to just warranty the device for Al and get him on his way even though he had already asked what a new unit costs and if he was able to apply the $295 he already paid as a credit, which I said of course.

On 6/17 I informed him that I was waiting on an answer from Alientech and that he'd have a resolution shortly. Shortly after I found his post bashing us and how terrible our customer service was, even though all his emails were replied to and a resolution to his issue was in the works. I asked Al if the post was him and said if it was I was going to just ship the device back as I didn't think that was fair to us. Al said it was him and asked for a refund along with telling me to keep the device (which unfortunately is locked up and unusable, not sure what happened in between owners, but it cannot be unlocked short of shipping to Italy).

In closing, we tried our best to help Al in a timely fashion. Apparently it wasn't fast enough for him and thus we received a poor review. All his emails were replied to and multiple phone calls back and fourth. A used handheld and some unknown problem along the way caused a lot of stress on both sides which could have easily been avoided.

If you would of put the effort into helping me the same effort put into your post we won't have an issue would we?

Read the internet and see what other customers are saying. Maybe I can post a few recent refreshing your memory since you really enjoy snip it !

Stop man ... You're starting to look silly and starting to really piss me off!

Let it go. The only thing you accomplished is preventing more people from purchasing a Bren Tune.

Sorry for bringing up facts that it was an old handheld he wanted to repurpose for a new bike. I didn't know stating facts was turning people away from the ducati forum.

Thanks everyone for your patience. I was able to make my way to the shop on Saturday and get a printout for the two 4th gear pulls. 92 octane.

See below chart. Same dyno, at Montgomery powersports in Honolulu.
Blue line is stock: 182.52whp
Red line is with bren tune, full akrapovic, and sprintfilter 188.06whp

Total gain 5.5whp. I know this dyno reads low, a pretty modded R1M did like 178whp a few weeks prior. But this wasn't the power gain i was expecting.

I will be sending this to bren, as they requested, to see if there is something else they can do for me. If not, i will try a run with their 100 octane tune and see the difference.

Again, this is not to bash on bren. I am satisfied with the tune itself and their customer service with me, but hopefully they can help me bump these HP gains up.

If the shop has the air/fuel line they can include on the runs, that would be helpful.

I think your result is pretty typical. Maybe a little more could be had with fuel/timing, but doubt if it would be more than 1 or 2 at peak.

With the a/f measurements you could check the midrange, which is actually more important than the peak. Looking at the curves, looks like your mid dropped a bit which could be related to either or both pipe and fuel.

Hey Justin,

As mentioned if you can get me some AFR data I'm happy to help see if the fueling needs adjustment or any additional changes are needed. Overall it looks about spot on for what we see in house with lower octane and worse atmospheric conditions than what we have in MA. If you look at the graph in the 125MPH range, you can see the bike made about 10WHP right there (175 vs 185), peak numbers don't always tell the whole story and looking at the delta is important along with assessing it properly.

HI Brentune
I see that curve is similar to what I felt with the full akro. I feel that the full akro hurts the midrange. Have you guys tested the akro vs Termi and do you make a flash for the termi?
