Buying tricolore question

LOL don't have time for that amount of maintenance......

I have an 08 Superleggera. Also mint. 7000 miles when I got it. The thing is VICERAL with straight pipes... Not that fast (530hp) but lots of fun!

Sorry to go off topic.....I'd still say buy the 13 due to 12 being the first year of the 1199...

+1 on the 2013! Not going to cite every instance here of course, but there's been a lot more complaining by '12 owners than '13 owners, regardless of mileage.

2012. Final Answer.
Somebody mentioned resale...? Resale wise you will be even BETTER with the 2012. You won't depreciate it $5K riding the 2012 off the lot like you will the stocker 2013.

Go with the 12. Whatever issues 12's had, early 13's did too. I have 2 of them both 2013s that have had problems- one being an oil leaking valve cover, a friend of mine has a base 2012 and he had ZERO problems with his. If the 2013 had advancements over the 12 I'd say go 13, but since there isn't go with the 12.

Either way, enjoy whatever 1199 you get (and remember, YOU'RE PAYING $5,000 FOR A PAINT JOB!)

Yes about the paint job, I know it's kind of crazy but I wanted something special.

So there are no differences between a 12 & 13 Tricolore?

Shouldn't the TRI come with termi's?
So if it should, I change my stance, as say take the 13.

If you're having to pay for termi's, .... it. take the 12.

No difference except the lower fairing on the 13 has an oil level viewing window.

And I'm pretty sure all tricolore's come with Termi slip-ons...

I'd get Faruca's '12. Otherwise get the '12 from your dealer. You save $2k, plus get a
$2k full system. So you're up $4k right out the gate. 800 miles might as well be 0 miles IMO except you got the cost savings of getting the first service done.

You're up by a total of ~$5k when taking all of that into consideration. If you were to ride 15k miles over the next year or 2, I doubt that between a '12 with full Termi and 15,800 miles on the odo and a stock '13 with 15,000 miles you would take a resale hit greater than $5k.

Miami, did you look at the one for sale in the classifieds with a ton mods? Dude that one is a smokin' deal! Go get it.

Your Call

Oh man half the people say get the 2012 and the other half 2013 LOL : /

Dude you need to do whats best in YOUR mind, not that of people here telling you this or that. Literally write down the details of each bike and what you are able to obtain them for, and things such as warranty, miles, servicing, obviously condition and make the decision which ends up being best in YOUR opinion. No one here is going to fault you for that and no one here is going to make payments for you either. You cant go wrong with either bike - and that comes from a 2012 Tri owner-not a base or S model. :D

Looking forward to seeing you on YOUR new bike soon man!

Hell- maybe I will sell you mine! :(

I will be paying for this bike up front.

Before I had a 2012 848 evo. Dumped about 6k into the bike and took a big hit when I sold it last week.

With this new purchase I just want to make sure I am getting a good deal all around.

Now with 3 options
1. 2013 tri 0 tot 26500 OTD
2. 2013 tri 1200 tot 25k maybe cheaper but modded.
3. 2012 tri 120 tot original; dealer put 800 tot 25000 OTD FULL Termi
