I’m not sure what point you’re making. I said I have to align them manually. A full AIM system with their camera does not require this of course.

Sure but that is not worth the cost and the massive control unit that you have to stick somewhere
point is you can review both ads draw correlations. The overlay is for posting on YouTube or showing other people - which I dont care about

Apparently they have no plans to make the same product for our bikes that they make for the GSXR. Perhaps it's a bit more complex or they don't think it's financially viable.

I don't entirely disagree, although being able to export a file with video that has a data overlay isn't exactly a negative... I agree - as I said earlier, the biggest negative to the cameras is the huge control unit.

As I said earlier, the only thing I don't have that I want is brake data.

I do think that having data on top of video is useful and not just for sharing. Seeing where you get on the brakes and throttle and where you finish braking, etc, is interesting.

Looks interesting.

and is it a bolt on kit or did you have to get a different lead made up as the v4 in particular the 22> v4 isn't listed.

The one I linked to earlier looks like it could be very good where ABS is still in place, as is the case for me, as you then get brake pressure readings. Add the GPS and the connection cable that they sell and you've got a working system and it should all fit neatly in the tail unit. Somewhere around £840 inclusive of VAT as far as I can tell.

I’m going to order this set up. The size is good and the only expansion you can’t do with it is a bullet camera, which I think is somewhat overpriced anyway.

There is an app called LapSnap available for iPhones and Android cell phones in the App Store that allows you to connect you phone to either your AIM or GoPro devices that takes you lap data and converts it into a data match fly over of your lap, as if a drone were following you. That’s pretty cool in and of itself. But the best feature is that there is a leaderboard for each track, and you can choose a lap from the leaderboard with a similar bike and do a side by side visual comparison of speed, lean angel, brake and throttle for every part of the lap…and you can do it in real time at the track on your cell phone.

It works well enough for my needs that I might not even get the bullet cam.

@Steven31371 That looks really good. I wonder how you’d add WiFi to an AiM data logger as the app seems to require that sort of connection…

curious to know why ?

The EVO4 setup has a lot more detailed logging and expansion capabilities than the Solo2. It’s a lot more sophisticated to set up, some would say too onerous for the average track day Joe…but Karl does some racing, and will get some usage from nerding out on lots of Data.

detailed in what sense ? as I understand Solo2 kit can read all channels off ECU can bus plus suspension pots, brake sensors and gps. Does EVO4 do more than that ?

I'm genuinely curious what else does it offer.

I thought most AIM data loggers have WiFi?

‘Most’ is probably the key word. Not the one I’ve ordered or EVO as far as I can tell.

It’s probably quite interesting and at the very least seeing exactly what the suspension is doing would be interesting.

It looks like you can expand the new ECU-L that I’ve ordered to allow for analog inputs if you want. Apparently it’s the same as the DL but without a screen. And, apparently, without Wi-Fi.

I don’t see anything on their site that can be added to a system to give it Wi-Fi for some strange reason.

detailed in what sense ? all it can do is to read can bus off ECU and sensors (suspension pots + brake) - I thought Solo2 kit does it.

As far as I can tell it’s partly having all the ports you could need built-in rather than adding hubs to enable that. It’s quite a neat size as well.

I would be interested in the answer to your question as well.

I've been experimenting with the i2m on my v4. I added linear pots for suspension and steering travel. Watching the data synched to video when I almost highsided was very interesting. It showed me the moment I lost traction control due to a broken sensor.. which caused the highside...

I also have an Aim Solo2DL but I'm still learning how to use this. Comparison videos will be added to the playlist when I get some results.

All the videos are here:
