yes but you need to clean your keyboard mate
No way to talk about the girlfriend !I’ll mention this to my girlfriend.
It’s difficult to keep the iPad and keyboard clean – whenever my dog wants a walk she lays her head on the keyboard to stop me using the iPad… and she has a big head and a dribbling mouth.
It sounds like you’re getting exactly what you hoped for from that bike.
It will be interesting to see if you can carry that over to the bigger bike when you eventually get back on one.
As you mentioned, I think data can be exceptionally useful
I should have gotten on the data train a long time ago…as simplistic as it sounds, when you stack your data over top somebody lee’s that is faster, you see EXACTLY where you can gain the most time and prioritize that.
I’ve spent the last 5 or 6 track days running at 70 or 80% just training in all the basics, getting my riding really locked into trained neuro muscular response…super basic stuff like foot position, not weighting the bars, body position, moving more smoothly on the bike, using full throttle and tucking properly on the straights, and figuring the line and breaking zones etc.
Yesterday was the 1st day that I really feel like I figured out how late i can let off throttle and start braking the bike and got comfortable with it…was REALLY fun having the liter bikes pull away a bit on the straights then FLY by them in the braking zone like they were standing still…by the end of the day I was still on full throttle while most of the guys in my group were were already braking hard. Was feeling like Valentino Rossi until I looked at the data of the really fast guys riding middle weight bikes overlayed on mine.
Even though I’m getting the braking zone right at this point I’m still over braking, not carrying enough speed and therefore lean into and through the corners and am losing full SECONDS on EACH corner.
Without data I felt like I was carrying good roll speed and good lean…but in carrying like 36-38% lean through most of the corner and peaking at 44-45% lean, whereas my much faster buddies are carrying 44-46% lean and peaking at 52-55% lean and holding that for longer…and they are carrying on average 10-12mph faster roll speed through the corners..
So now I’ve feel like I’m really locked in on all the fundamentals of riding well, and know the braking zone for this bike, the next two or three track days will be spent on carrying greater roll speed and therefore greater lean through the corners. I also realized from the data that I was trying to be the tail wagging the dog, meaning I couldn’t figure out why I was exceeding a greater lean angle that would let me go faster, but I finally realized that speed doesn’t come from leaning more, leaning more comes from going faster
Stupidly I felt like I just couldn’t lean the bike more, like there was a lean barrier for me, but it’s just that I wasn’t going fast enough to require the greater lean angle.
After two years of track riding I finally feel like I’m starting to figure out how to ride the bike haha
Luckily was able to do that twice with the JP43 team at Chuck, Corey went on on my bike at the end of the day and ripped what he thought was my ideal target should be if I properly linked all my corners, about 5-6s faster than my current times. Amazingly helpful to see data from the same bike and dissect each corner. I was able to hit his first target (2:02), now working on the second (1:57). That 5s would normally seem crazy to say “I just need to go faster” (which is true) but looking at the data overlay it is really just nailing all the basics every time.I should have gotten on the data train a long time ago…as simplistic as it sounds, when you stack your data over top somebody lee’s that is faster, you see EXACTLY where you can gain the most time and prioritize that.
Very interesting, especially for bikes that come without any data logging.
I tried to explain to Domenicali that the new V4R, MUST have a complete, self contained and easy to use data logging, not the actual system that is full of flaws.
It will be a game changer for advanced amateur, but also for people who want to improve their technique.....and a mandatory system for the future TROFEO DUCATI
Good luck pricing it

The new DDL seems to be a big step on from the previous DDA and finally includes brake data. No idea if it will allow data export but you’d think it should.
Good luck pricing it
cool,A new one coming from AiM. Integrated WiFi and Bluetooth and GPS… Seems to good to be true.
