I have to believe this info exists somewhere on this forum but for the life of me, this is the worst search function I've ever seen on a forum. I can't find crap.

Anyway, so I'm swapping out both the fork and shock springs on my S, and I was hoping someone could explain how to disconnect the DES so when I remove everything I can actually walk away with it instead of still having a wire connected.

On top of that, after lifting the front from the steering stem, how do you lift the rear to remove the shock? Jack stands under the footpegs? I have a hard time believing the bike can be held safely from the footpegs, but I've been wrong before!

Anyone done this yet?? I'm sure someone has...

There are mods out there for sale but from my understanding from a Ducati Mechanic is that you will get a DES error on the dash. You either have to jumper the cables or reflash the DES Black Box. This is why I went with the base.

A belly jack would work to remove the rear suspension. There was a thread in this forum on switching F to P with some good ideas on how to stabilize the bike.

Motowheels make a kit not sure how they get rid of the DES Error on the dash. You can email [email protected] he can explain it to you.

Thanks for the response, but I don't think you understand the DES question. I'm not permanently removing the DES wires, I just need to disconnect them so I can take the forks to my suspension guy. I want to know HOW to disconnect them, temporarily.

just pull the plug on the fork top

There's a little white connector clips when you peel back the rubber housing over them. The just use the end of a very small screwdriver or something similar to press the clip so you can slide the connector out. Be gentle they are fairly delicate.

Yup...do it slowly...very delicate plastic connectors... once connectors are unclipped...you can pull out connectors from the fork's top...

OK, so I can see how the rubber boot comes up, and you can unclip the wires from the top of the forks - easy enough.

What about the rear shock?? How are those lines disconnected?

Thanks for the info.

After searching and calling a few different places (Dealer, Ohlins), I finally figured out an "easy" way to do it. If anyone wants to know they are more than welcome to send me a PM.
