Hi Gecko,
I am in too. Thank you for your efforts. I think to avoid undue attention I would also prefer Red Lense like OEM but if not possible would be happy with your version.

cheers

Ill second that , red would be great but as Brad say's smoke will be ok to

Hey Gecko! Great work here. I've been away awhile (work has been insane...) but I'm stoked to see you went ahead and did this. I've been toying with the thought of doing so myself for years now.

I'm throwing my hat in as well. I'll pay whatever you think is fair (and for the record my vote is smoke).
Let me know if you want any help with the software.

Hi Jello!!!!!
I hope you're doing well.
Great that you're back on the forum. We missed your posts!
I can remember when we wrote about the tail light.
Thank you very much for your offer. Software is finished (not really, I have new ideas every day. Since the whole thing is connected on the CAN bus, I can now keep the DDA stick daisy-chained on the bike without discharging the battery. I also did a lot of reverse-engineering of the Panigale's CAN bus communication. It would be very easy to add an SD card slot to allow data logging in a reusable format. So Dashware would be an option for the tail light buyers).

But finally it all comes down whether I find a manufacturer :(
I will know next week, currently it seems that there is some sort of moon festival holiday in Asia.

FYI: really funny, CAN bus messages on the SL are really different. So there's another reason for you to feel special :) :)
PS: I hope you still have AntiHero's painting on your wall.

I'm in for one at $300. I was also expecting it at higher price so $300 is a discount now :)) let me know when you need payment.

I'm in for $300USD as well. Idea of when we can make the commitment and a ETA target of delivery?

I'm still in. I'd prefer red, but I'm not sure what effect that will have on the amber signals. Anyone have an example? Smoke would be my next preference if you're keeping score.

Also, you mentioned you'd need to run load resistors if we're completely removing the existing indicators. What size resistors do we need? (I'm currently running no signals at all, and I haven't gotten any warnings or codes)

I'm sure the controller will handle the need of a resistor.

Update

During the last weeks I was mailing to the Asian guy who should produce the optical parts including the LED installation. All was very promising and I thought that production could start in October.

I am doing this project as a private person. I have almost no expierience with the Asian market (I tried to import tools and bolts from Japan and China last year, and these ventures failed 100%).

Now, after sending concepts and designs over a month ago, the business partner still seems not to understand what I want. I am running out of energy...
I simply don't know whether these problems are caused by stupidity or by "intercultural differences". I always thought that all engineers on this planet speak the same language. But it seems that I'm wrong :(
Last response from the manufacturer was "I don't understand".

I gave it another shot today and I'll wait for the response from Asia. If nothing fruitfull comes as an answer, I'm going to stop the project. I'm very sorry to bring you such negative info, but in my personal opinion it's not my fault. Design is completed and super-cool. All information required for production has been sent by me to the manufacturer. All questions asked have been answered by me immediately and in detail. Software is written and tested on 1199, 1199S, 1299S and SL (It will work on 959 and 899, guaranteed. just had no chance to get a grip on these bikes). It would also allow to keep the DDA+ stick keeping connected without draining the battery.

:(

BTW: I also contacted companies in the US (they didn't even answer) and Switzerland (way to expensive). Just to make clear that I am not a racist or somehow else strange).

welcome to the world of international project managment. ;)

it sucks sometimes.

Key is finding the right partners and developing a language level that works for both sides.

And never give up ;)

patience.

at least you don't have a boss who already ran to the customer and promised, what you only had as plan so far.

you are the boss and we will buy it when it's ready for us.

Really sorry to hear that Gecko as I bet trying to source a manufacturer has been pretty damn frustrating and time consuming for you! Wish I could help in some way but have no contacts over in Asia. Long shot but I don't suppose there is a Chinese business owners group local to you (ie. in Switzerland rather than your next door neighbour) who might be willing to help out with the language barrier or perhaps contacts?

I hope something comes off for you but thanks for trying if not...

Keep your head up Gecko. Sometimes good things take a while to achieve. I've been waiting for over 3 years for the Motodynamic light to become available. Maybe the problems you're having are some of the same problems that they're having which is why it's taking them so long? I feel the same way Phl does, when you have the lights done I'll be ready to buy one. Thanks again for all of your hard work and effort.
