Any advantage for using this on the street ?

Nothing other than to have cool things. ;) Unless you're fortunate enough to live somewhere that you actually have race track-like roads to ride on. For general street riding it's just a novelty I'd say.

I could see using this in the twisties. I'm just waiting to hear from new users how the basic street version works out. Can't get my head around how it differentiates between up/down shifts. Looking forward to hear some reviews.

You can order at the Ducati Omaha site now. Delivery is supposed to be ~ End April... Not specific date yet however

Ok guys, the test kits have been installed on a couple bikes, and I was able to test it back to back with my Frankenbike track bike with the full Marelli superbike kit on it, and honestly you'd never notice the difference between that and the Blip Box as far as the downshift blip function goes, it's pretty well flawless. We got a blip map built for the 899 on Friday after I did a few testing "loops" up and down the street in front of our shop, so there is now a map available for 899, 1199, 1199S and 1199R. The Superleggera is coming soon, the CAN data has been gathered but due to the different electronics on the SL it's going to take a different firmware flash to support it, so the current Blip Box version will not work. There will be a new version sold for the SL as soon as that development is complete. We'll be receiving the first 10 kits in about 2 weeks. Pre-orders are still being accepted if you want one from this first batch, after that it will be another month or so probably.

You can get 'em here:

And if any video surfaces of my "testing" on the frontage road by our shop.... "It wasn't me, Officer!!" :D

Did you get a chance to test the street version?

Yes, it works the same as the Pro other than you still need to use the clutch. It will only activate the blip strategy if you're on the brakes, so that's the failsafe in the system to keep it from blipping when you wouldn't want it to.

I'm really excited to get my blipper. I'm I right to understand from what you write that the blip box will come with a pre-installed map for the 1199R? Or, will we have to get maps e-mailed to us and install them ourselves? Or, can is "self tune " slightly?

I'm pretty stoked about the whole project.

Yes, I have all the maps and can pre-load the correct one for your bike using the software here. Or if you buy the optional software and cable you can load them yourself, as well as customize all the settings.

Okay well I have a '13 1199R so you guys can upload the proper map. You can't say I didn't ask,.....I have witnesses...lol

I added a bunch of photos to the listing as well showing the parts and how it's mounted. Just realized I forgot to take a pic of the load cell, so I'll add that tomorrow too. Here are a couple of the pics:

Which setting do you change for GP shift pattern? I think I'll wait to add this to my bike. I want to continue to race superstock.

As the blip box plugs into the connector under the seat does this mean you cant run the DDA and the blip box at the same time ?

Dang it Jarel stop the temptations !!!

Do you have a firm ETA on the 1st batch?

No the system has a pigtail on it so you can still run the DDA while it's hooked up, it just shares the CAN data feed between both system. Can still be used at the dealer to plug in the diagnostic computer too.
