Wait, what's that? I should check it out.

Perhaps this @sinjin can help us find it.
Nah; don't go to the BMW S1000RR Forum; nothing but people whining about engine heat, hot frames, "buzzing", excruciatingly uncomfortable seating position, bikes that veer to the right when you take your hands off the handlebars, LOTS of threads about engine oil, brake pads, tyres... Pretty much the same as here, except for the self-steering part.. :D

It'd be nice if they included quality race bodywork in the same paint scheme. Seems a bit dumb to include mirror block offs and license plate block offs when most people are going to swap for fiberglass bodywork if they're serious about the track anyway.

Well they didn't do that to the R so it's hardly surprising.

I really dig the look of this thing but that's the long and short of it: basically a tricolare with black instead of green in my opinion. I do have to give it up for them being able to get our attention! Just when sales on the S are probably starting to slide most likely...
At this rate though I'm sure there's gonna be a 1299R-ish sort of thing on the way with some crazy SL paint dropping this time next year. There still a big price gap between the current R and SL to fill: A Pani for every purpose and price point!

yep, me too. same options as with the tricolore in 2012. except an additional software update and a lasered number on the top yoke.

I recall the 2007 Tricolore also were limited with numbers etched on the triple. 000/1250 i believe. 2007 tri didn't come with an exhaust like the 2012 tri.

There are two dealers in the DC Metro area each getting two of these. One called to tell me I can put a refundable deposit on one. What is a guy to do?!?! It's a great bike but there are nicely modded used 1299S to be had. One even has a full Ducati Performance exhaust system on it.

People saying they will update all the 1299 with this new EVO map lol. Ducati doing something like that is the day aliens make first contact with earth.

You do realize this was said by a member on here who works at the Ducati factory, right? TJ99.

They are already here, everyone knows that they have mistakenly taken the guise of politicians which is why nobody can understand a word they say, or trust them

I'm the product manager of the Panigale and Hypermotard lines, you can trust me on this. Now, kindly list your address and availability so that our new overlords can schedule you to be probed.  :D

It hasn't happened yet so I think my ....... is safe lol.

I am just glad to see it has different specs than the regular model. I hate it when companies come out with these "Anniversary" or "Special" or "Limited" editions, and they are nothing more than different decals or a paint job.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if they added the EVO mapping. It is a relatively easy way to advertise improvements/upgrades and make the new year model bike marketable, without having to do a complete redesign or change displacement or anything such as that.

In other words, it will give people a reason why they "need" to get a new 2017 1299S, rather than grabbing a used one from somewhere.

No you've misunderstood. The new EVO wheelie and traction control will be available as a free "software flash" upgrade for ANY 1299 except for Japan market bikes. So you don't need a 2017, a 2016 will do just fine.

Yes they do and it's quite pricey, but more to the issue is that the way the stock OEM system connects is not the same as the aftermarket Akra version, so you'd need a set of DP Akra pipes, and I don't think they have those. They did for the termi systems though.

Ah ok. Yeah, I did misunderstand. Thanks for the clarification. That is awesome. :)
