Wait, what's that? I should check it out.
Perhaps this @sinjin can help us find it.

Nah; don't go to the BMW S1000RR Forum; nothing but people whining about engine heat, hot frames, "buzzing", excruciatingly uncomfortable seating position, bikes that veer to the right when you take your hands off the handlebars, LOTS of threads about engine oil, brake pads, tyres... Pretty much the same as here, except for the self-steering part..Wait, what's that? I should check it out.

It'd be nice if they included quality race bodywork in the same paint scheme. Seems a bit dumb to include mirror block offs and license plate block offs when most people are going to swap for fiberglass bodywork if they're serious about the track anyway.
yep, me too. same options as with the tricolore in 2012. except an additional software update and a lasered number on the top yoke.
People saying they will update all the 1299 with this new EVO map lol. Ducati doing something like that is the day aliens make first contact with earth.

I'm the product manager of the Panigale and Hypermotard lines, you can trust me on this. Now, kindly list your address and availability so that our new overlords can schedule you to be probed.
It hasn't happened yet so I think my ....... is safe lol.
It wouldn't surprise me a bit if they added the EVO mapping. It is a relatively easy way to advertise improvements/upgrades and make the new year model bike marketable, without having to do a complete redesign or change displacement or anything such as that.
In other words, it will give people a reason why they "need" to get a new 2017 1299S, rather than grabbing a used one from somewhere.
Yes they do and it's quite pricey, but more to the issue is that the way the stock OEM system connects is not the same as the aftermarket Akra version, so you'd need a set of DP Akra pipes, and I don't think they have those. They did for the termi systems though.

No you've misunderstood. The new EVO wheelie and traction control will be available as a free "software flash" upgrade for ANY 1299 except for Japan market bikes. So you don't need a 2017, a 2016 will do just fine.
