Yep, just keep telling yourself that and everything will be fine.

There is a Daytona track day event Sept 4-5… care to show up with one of the larger grocery getters? If not, that’s ok. Sebring is my home track anyways. Unless you can roll Sebring in the teens it’s quite honestly a waste of my time. I bet your monster M5 or whatever has brake failure 2 laps in.

I have no idea what you just said. I do drive a grocery getter (GL63) because well, .... I need groceries once in a while. Are you telling me that your one of those guys who drives one of those entry level street sedans on the track? Are you challenging me to a race? in a street driven vehicle? Im confused. You race cars? When I think of a street driven track car, Im thinking something like this. Is something like this what you are driving at Daytona?

What the f.........?

Ducati is owned by Audi via VW etc its a long way from hand built Imola winning bevels. Its a corporate entity that has marketing focus groups who come up with these parts bin specials.
So far in this cycle we have the "Foggy", the "SP," the "Bayliss" and none of them are anything more than what you or I could do with some stickers and a parts catalogue. Sure we all like Ducati's but come on, dont piss on me and tell me its raining.

Excellent dose of reality my good sir. Well done

I think it would be great if there were a Rolex of a motorcycle brand. Nothing but high end products. Even the lowest tier Rolex (stainless gmt) is an absolute top shelf product. Unfortunately all these brands have gone the way of the 14th place trophy. “From PhD to GED, everyone gets a bike”. I think a custom, no expense spared hyperbike company would do pretty well.

New with the bells and whistles, 15-17k

I thought it was about that, point is that to build a "serious" Corse Ducati its serious money and you get what you pay for. Want pretty stickers with a numbered triple for not much, get the Bayliss V2 otherwise open the wallet really wide

I think I get @Paul G @Mick1976 @endodoc ’s philosophy: if it ain’t prototipo Corse materiel, then get ......
At least offer opportunity for that. Does everyone have to have everything? Do you have to make concessions for everyone? Can’t a top shelf brand at least have the opportunity to say “ hey, it’s 200k, you don’t like it, the Honda dealership is down the street”. Then you go and monkey with the branding and exclusive this and that and it’s a giant cluster. They’re stamping out limited top clamps like Duncan is Doughnuts.

We did the math. It’s 130k and change to build Redding’s V4 with slight mods to be streetable with a head light, signals and mirrors. Not much more than the SL with the premium. If they built 500 of those thing they would all sell. I wouldn’t spend 100k on the SL because they left a lot in the table for that $$. I would have no issue dropping 130 for all the good stuff.

Ducati, for 100k+, I want billet masters, I want billet engine pieces, I want a decent triple, I want at least FGR250 equivalent forks, I want at least the MS calipers, I want something other than the cheap plastic control switches, I want decent bars, I want a decent radiator, I want real rear sets, I at least want the billet rear caliper not that .... pile cast piece and last but certainly not least, I want carbon rotors. 100 ....... K and no carbon rotors. They have carbon rotors for ....... Subarus.WTF is responsible for special projects at this place? They need to be fired. You dinged me 100k for a stock motor.

This is rich… you want this and that and you don’t want to pay the price. Put up or shut up.

You bashed on the smallest series of cars that BMW makes (probably because it’s not the most expensive and highest M-whatever), it’s also currently one of the most sought after cars in the US, there are like 3 used ones out there. Why, because it’s closer to what the old E-46 is and the ONLY car they currently make that’s appropriately sized and will make it more than a few laps. And honestly, the much cheaper M2 Competition is a fantastic car as well, better on track than anything above it in series.

And FYI, bikes get better every year. The engines get better, the geometry gets refined, the quick shifters get faster, the BBS modules calculate quicker and the ABS becomes less intrusive… every year and for less money to manufacture. And why do they go to the parts bin, because the R&D gets exponentially more expensive for smaller, sometimes almost imperceptible and insignificant gains.

As far as the Porsche (you posted a picture) they had to restrict the GT4 because the purists, guys like you, want the 911 to be faster and the flagship. The only problem is that they’ve moved the engine as far forward as they physically can and still call it a “rear engine.” Things have changed. The “mid engine”, MORE AFFORDABLE GT4 will no longer have its hands tied. Why? Because Ford and Chevy had a hold my beer moment (GT and C8) and the case of the much more expensive flagship rear engined VW had to go the way of the dinosaurs. Must piss guys like you off, sitting in your MBZ and looking over at that C8 that’s a third of the price.

LOL I still don’t know what your saying. You keep talking about going around the track. As far as I know BMW doesn’t make “track cars”. If you want to be a race car driver then, get a ....... race car not the same car mom picks up little Jenny from school in.

Everyone wants to be a race car driver thats why the streets of SoCal are littered with pieces of these baby BMWs and the jack ..... who drive them. I drive SUVs (GL 63 and GLS 550). I don’t even own a car. I drive what I drive as it serves function and purpose. I could give 2 ..... what it costs. I don’t buy the cheap seats and I wouldn’t go near the brand unless I got their flagship models because their lesser end cars are not the same and it’s that way across the board with all brands.

Sounds like you have some sort of mid level sedan that I’m now guessing has some sort of popity, pop, pop illegal exhaust system and you like to downshift through the gears and like to hear it backfire at every stop sign and piss everyone off. Is this accurate? Did I nail this one? Are you one of “those guys”? Oh and I bet there is a little street racing going on as well yes? I don’t follow auto racing much but how is BMW, Ford and Chevy doing in F1?

I think canyon carver should probably stick to cars. More misinformation from these new guys never ends. Have you ever had the fairings off say a 999R or a 1098/1198? I am guessing your first bike was a V4? FYI the new bikes are far worse with being better, faster or better quality. Maybe slight top end power (look at the lap times) so other thrn that the rest is a .... show.

Snake the point we is making is that Ducati position themselves as a premium brand and charge premium prices, but they devalue the brand with relatively low quality product as they try to appeal to a wider market. The V2 Bayliss is a nice bike, but its nothing special, if you cant appreciate that then go shopping for quality components and report back or better still tell us how much a rebuild on a desmosidici is! If all Ducati are going to produce is stickered up rehashed memorabilia then at this point I'd rather have a zx10rr than any Ducati parts bin marketing romp.

These guys think it’s a zero-sum game. Just because you jerk off to 999Rs and 1098/1198s doesn’t mean others can’t jerk off to V4s or “parts bin” special Ducatis.

And, Paul when has Kawa ever come out with a “Corse”-spec ZX10R?

Kawasaki has never positioned themselves as a premium motorcycle brand.

You have made it clear that you're not understanding anyone's point.
