Dynoing my 1299S tomorrow

The ones with the front exit? do post up when you get them and if they, uh, slip right on.

The only thing that has kept me from placing an order (well, on top of how long it takes for exhausts to arrive from Italy - been down that road many a time) is a paranoia that it won't fit the larger 1299 pipes.
Yes, the ones with the front exit; they get rid of the cats and take 10lbs of weight off the bike, they also have one less bend in the piping, so theoretically should flow a lot better..

We shall see, when and if I get them from Italy...

Footnote: comparing the standard R1 to the std 1299, the brakes on the R1 suck and it's neutered power wise from the factory - those were big strikes against it for me

The brakes aren't as great on Yamaha's on general, however the rest of the package at least with the r6's I have had are top notch.

I'm excited to see your results with the rapidbike and custom tune, coming from someone who has only had Akrapovic your review of how Termi QC has improved would be greatly appreciated as well

I won't be using the RapidBike module; my tuner can directly program the ECU.. That's what he did with my BMW... He hacked the ECU (took him 4 days) and then figured it out from there.

He is well known in high end Porsche and Lambo tuning and has a Diavel that has been his test Mule/Frankenbike that he rides every day.

I far prefer having my ECU directly tuned; fewer add-on components to go wrong and can be flashed back to stock instantly...

I will most definitely give a mini-review of the Termi and what the quality/finish is like, before having it installed.

Cheers.

One day (hopefully soon) all of these bikes will come from the factory with a wideband, mass air flow sensor, and self-tune ECU like the Adaptronic - dyno tuning isn't optimal imo because of heat soak and the ram air effect at speed can't possibly be simulated

The technology is here Ducati, get with it....

They can't sell it in an easily tunable manner like that for the street. EPA and all.

Did you look at your rear tire after the run ?
My tester was struggling with the "smoothing" of the data, due to tire slip on the roller that the tester was unable to prevent 100%
It was not really apparent at the time apart from the serated roller pattern left on my tire however next time I rode it a whole strip streaded off and in a couple spots steel cords were exposed, so now I really question my data.

You say "hacked." I would prefer the term "cracked," if it is indeed Shiv you are referring to. ;)

Yes, it IS Shiv.... Let me rephrase... One he "cracks" the ECU... But I think he already has the Ducati ECU figured out, given that he has been tweaking his Diavel for a year of more. (He's been working on the new Slingshot recently).

Cheers.

Should be interesting to see if he finds U.S. 1299s are neutered as some have claimed
