Dynoing my 1299S tomorrow

Interesting that AFRs drop all the way down to mid 11s (estimate) in upper midrange - holy rip that is turbo rotary rich, extremely conservative

This bike does drink the gas like I've never seen before
Strangely enough, when I baby the bike, or do a ton of freeway miles I get BETTER mpg than I got on my S1000RR..!!! Last tank, I got 131 miles out of it, before the fuel light came on, but I have had as low as 82 miles when caning it..

Cheers.

I hope my experience is the same; I got into the habit of looking for gas stations every 100 miles on my S1000RR....for good reason.

This is the norm for me......and I have an 1199...so I am thinking your needs will be similar....

Last tank I got had the low fuel light come on at 124 miles with an estimated range of 34 miles until empty on my RR. I figured the Panigale would he thirsty but those are pretty good numbers.

so the bike still has a torque dip between 4,000rpm and 8,000rpm but not nearly as bad as the 1199.

would be interested to see what a tune and exhaust would do the curve.

I'll have both of those when I dyno next wednesday

Here is the chart:

A couple of things I noticed..

First The rev limiter seems to kick in slightly early.. Supposed to be 11,500 rpm and seems to kick in at 11,250.. I watched the runs and he held it WFO until the rev limiter intervened..

Second, The bike seems really rich for most of the fuel curve.. Probably a good amount of power and torque left on the table.

Third The power is still climbing at the rev limiter.. I don't see it tailing off completely, so more revs could bring more power..?

Also, between 6K and 8K rpm, the curve looks mighty "wavy" wheelspin?? Something else? I had EVERYTHING turned OFF; no ABS, NO DWC, no DTC...

Thoughts? Comments?

Do you know if the rear wheel speed sensor connector was disconnected at right side inner panel below the Ign coil?

If not , your tuner didn't read the memo straight from Ducati about how to properly have the new "1299" on the dyno. Super rich towards the redline, very typical improper dyno pull :) so wouldn't worry about the slightly low number . :)

I'm thinking a RapidBike module from you, plus the Termignoni carbon slip on should do it... What do you think Yturan? ::D

P.S. That sensor was NOT disconnected... Thanks for the heads up.

Getting and installing an RB is easy :D what I am concern about is and I have seen that so many times, even with RB on the bike. The bike still needs to be on the dyno properly to get a proper result .
E-mail me, I can share that memo with you, I tried to post it but it is too large for the forum it says, it is in pdf

Whew - that's a relief, although not great (immediate) news for shilling. It didn't make sense how Ducati could screw up the fueling THAT bad

I bet my 184 hp estimate was damn close with proper AFRs

Guy on the R1 forum just laid down 192 with a full pipe, gotta keep up boys!

Saw a video today of a R1M with a full Graves system... As much as I hate to say it, it sounds as good as a Duc.
