Dynoing my 1299S tomorrow

I will probably go with the rapidbike module with the stock exhaust. Are you planning on doing any type of exhaust?
I think I will do the Termi carbon slip on, plus RapidBike.. Let's face it, none of us are racing in WSBK and 5 hp here or there is irrelevant.. Mostly what I am looking for is smoothness and consistency in power delivery, not peak hp numbers.

I was hoping for 180 but still healthy numbers

How was the RH?
bear in mind our gas here has ethanol in it, which reduces its power output a bit and it was quite warm there today.. I would guarantee 180 hp with normal gas....

My BMW S1000RR only made 174 RWHP STOCK on that dyno, before the mods and the tune, full Akra and BMC race filter.

My tuner reckons with a tune, air filter and exhaust 190 RWHP is a no-brainer.

Does RapidBike have auto tune? Most of the newer ECUs do, and it seems to work well

76 ft tq at 4000 rpm.... no wonder this this wheelies like a mofo. Anyone know what the tq is on a 1198 at 4000 rpm roughly?
There's a small dip at around 5200 rpm, but at no point does this bike ever make less than 68 ft/lbs from 4k up... In fact, it makes 58ft/lbs at 3,250 rpm.

Acknowledging the variables, my 2010 1198sp with full termis put down about 62 pounds of torque at 4k and 92 at peak.

Sincerely a big thanks to shilling for spending the time to share the dyno results...much appreciated.

Im just going to wait for you to work out all the kinks and follow your lead. The name of the game is to do exactly as you do. I need a few more miles in the saddle anyways before I do anything.

In all seriousness, I think we can all agree more power is unnecessary, and the goal is likely to attain the proper a/f in order for this thing to be as linear and efficient as possible. A good tune should achieve that. Not that the bike is lacking, but if the tune can improve I'm in.

Once again, sincere thanks...

Hey Shill.

Where are the charts at?

Here is the chart:

A couple of things I noticed..

First The rev limiter seems to kick in slightly early.. Supposed to be 11,500 rpm and seems to kick in at 11,250.. I watched the runs and he held it WFO until the rev limiter intervened..

Second, The bike seems really rich for most of the fuel curve.. Probably a good amount of power and torque left on the table.

Third The power is still climbing at the rev limiter.. I don't see it tailing off completely, so more revs could bring more power..?

Also, between 6K and 8K rpm, the curve looks mighty "wavy" wheelspin?? Something else? I had EVERYTHING turned OFF; no ABS, NO DWC, no DTC...

Thoughts? Comments?

It looks pretty damn good for stock and this confirms my butt dyno that the power comes on in three stages. Add some fuel between 6-8 to smooth it out if your concerned about it being wavy.

Looks good!

I agree with scrapper. Streamline the fueling from 6K on (can be fixed from 3K actually) should give it more beef. The rev limiter concern should be addressed to the pros/factory.

Considering the R? Had a 500 over rev I'm certain you probably could get more HP by unlocking a few hundred rpm but with those numbers I'd just focus on the smoothing which will probably make it faster than more rev.

Interesting that AFRs drop all the way down to mid 11s (estimate) in upper midrange - holy rip that is turbo rotary rich, extremely conservative

This bike does drink the gas like I've never seen before
