2k? Man, you got taken to the cleaners. Now that the Akras are out you can find these things for next to nothing. I traded my aero fairing extensions and stock seat for them straight across.

Is it still April Fools day???

2k for a full system i dont think i got taken. it was brand new from a dealer. 1500 for the slips 2 years ago 850 for the pipe end of summer. 2350. sold my slip upmap for 350 2k all in.

show me where you can get a full termi system brand new for 2k. youre just mad cause you paid 170 for slips

Can anyone confirm if there is a new update out for the 899 also? Last one I know of is Jan 18th...

Thank you for the update, Brad. Did your dealer happen to provide a corresponding release date for this update? When I had my rear sprocket swapped to the 41T, my dealer did perform a software update at the same time. I would like to rule out the possibility of this being the same update you are referring to.

I did originally ask about the 41 tooth sprocket update.
The tech said there is one specifically for that but it has to be requested/called up through the system for when the sprocket is changed.
All good;)

That was the first question.

My second question was, "Are there any new updates in general for the bike that you know of?".

He said, " Not that I'm aware of, but seeing as it's here I'll plug it in and we'll see".
After plugging it in he said "It looks like there is indeed a new update that's available".

I asked what it was for, and he said the computer lists it as for fuelling (or something)
It took a fair while to load.
Actually longer than any other updates it's had in the past.
Maybe 10-15 minutes.

The difference it made was unbelievable right from the start:)

Where before you sort of had to anticipate what the throttle was going to do and try and trick the bike to smooth it out and ride around it.
You had to really work at keeping it smooth over rough patches of road, and setting it up for corners and keeping it from bucking from the slightest throttle handle inputs mid corner.

It's sorted out now.
Just like riding with a throttle cable connected to the throttle bodies.
Throttle inputs are now precisely, and directly reproduced at the throttle bodies:)
No more mind of its own when you don't want it:eek:

This is probably some sort of post-EPA mapping... Bike on the market, screw emission regulations, new map, booom!

not saying you are wrong brand but when i asked my stealership about an upmap because of the sproket which i had done over a year ago they said NO. they also said that i am current so i dont know whats going on at all. the performance maps ( i was told) ducati , racing , evo ) are seperate from the other updates. so for example if you have a full system you have racing evo map. any other updates are separate from that.

Brad - did your bike definitely get the 0206 update? Sounds very similar to the performance gains from the 0205-0206.

The reason I ask is my bike went in for it's service at the end of last week & I checked the software before re flashing Tuneboy, it still showed 0206. Could be that it's been released this week though or the tech was lazy!

I was at the dealer today to get the recall done for the left control switch supplementary wiring harness. QUOTE]

i too had the recall done for the wiring harness. i also had my termi slips installed. the tech working on the bike was really nice and went over everything done. he didn't mention any update to the software though (other than the upmap install). though after riding the bike home i did notice a better response from the bike. but that might just be from the upmap

Yes there is a noticeable difference in the Termi slip installed maps.

I had that back in mid 2012.
Then there was the improvement in the fuelling from new maps which came out in late 2012.
Then I think there were more updates for improving the quickshifter operation.

This is the latest/most recent and by far the most significant change to the 1199.
It transforms it into something else completely;)

WAF flagged it as a possibility after talking with the rep from the importer.
He's been having some ongoing trouble coming to terms with the throttle actuation/operation.
So he was enquiring about what fixes were available, or is DUCATI working on it?

The rep said for him to get this update and it should see him right.

Thank goodness he thought to mention this on the forum;)
Otherwise, I wouldn't have asked about it out of curiosity while I was there yesterday.
As I said, the dealer wasn't aware of it initially.
And they do normally get notified by email about these types of things.
If the bike wasn't connected to the DDS yesterday, no one would've been any wiser.

Party on:)

Any specific Service Bulitin number? or Program # ?.

Sorry I didn't ask for specifics.

Except I did ask what it was for.
The tech said it was listed on the computer screen as a fuelling update or something to that effect.

It's obviously a big change to the software, because it takes a quite a while to do.
Longer than any updates in the past;)
The change in the bike is dramatic:)
It's a big leap forward.

I got that update when my bike was in the shop to get th 41T sprocket uograde.

I don't know when yours was done for the sprocket.
But unless it was done in the last couple of weeks you might not have the current "Holy Grail" update.

Clearly, mine was the first the dealer had done.

The sprocket update is different to this one.
I have standard gearing, so it hasn't got the sprocket update.
This update is related to fuelling.

This is probably some sort of post-EPA mapping... Bike on the market, screw emission regulations, new map, booom!

I was thinking the exact same thing myself while I was riding home.

I swear it's louder as well as the change to the exhaust note;)
That's why I was thinking they've gone to the max on it.

I'd like to see the results of a dyno run with this update.
Just out of curiosity;)

This is a big change from anything we've seen to date:D

not saying you are wrong brand but when i asked my stealership about an upmap because of the sproket which i had done over a year ago they said NO. they also said that i am current so i dont know whats going on at all. the performance maps ( i was told) ducati , racing , evo ) are seperate from the other updates. so for example if you have a full system you have racing evo map. any other updates are separate from that.

From my understanding the bike has the basic maps in it that work with the stock exhaust as it comes from factory.

Then when we put the Termis' on. (regardless of the incantation)
There are another set of supplementary maps that are sort of superimposed/over-ride the stock maps in order to make the fuelling/timming correct for the Termis'

This update I got I think is for the base line operational mapping in stock form.
It clearly changes the throttle operating algorithms, and has an effect on the EBC operation (which could merely be a side benefit and not directly targeted)

Fuelling is clearly altered, because the performance is better all round with a serious improvement in the mid range.
And the bike sounds louder with a more aggressive note/growl to it.

Just go and get it done;)

None... I am sure it will be perfect from the get go...;)

We were talking about the SL yesterday.
The tech has been to the school on the SL.
And the tech was saying you can alter all sorts of things on the fly with it.
I'm not sure to what extent though. But apparently it's an awful lot;)

Is there no way you can see what revision it is in a setting somewhere?

No.
This matter has been covered way back in the day about the last lot of fuelling maps.

Maybe there's an update "ID number" for this but I didn't ask.
I was just thankful to be getting an update.

I only asked because WAF flagged it as being a possibility, and I'd seen somebody poo poo the idea after enquiring at his dealer about it, and being told it's a fairy tale or something.

So the last I knew of it, was that WAF is getting something redone at his dealer on the 8th April and he was going to follow up on it again.
Apparently after the 8th he was going to be certain.

I'm telling you here and now it's all go on the update:)

I think there's an echo is this room.....:)
