last Wednesday afternoon a female driver pulled out in front of me while I was in the right lane next to a shopping center. I could see she wasn't looking as she attempted to cross 4 lanes of traffic. I picked my escape route and then she decides to keep moving forward, attempting to get to the median lane.
I tried to get the bike slowed down and the results were not good. My neck and back are in serious pain and as you can imagine hitting a fixed object at roughly 25 mph can leave some serious bruising. She was cited for failure to yield and another charge. 100% her fault, and I had two great witnesses who stayed to give their version of events, which sealed her fate as a .... driver.
I have a deposit on the 2020, and will probably have the dealership leave the wings off, as the bikes ship without them according to the salesman. Ordered up some fresh leather last night from Dainese: Motorcycle clothing, sportswear and protective gear and they have tall sized suits still available. Free shipping and I get the elbow sliders now too.
I had just put that 520 conversion on the 2018 the day prior, and I gotta say that transformed the feeling and response 100% I went with the gearing from the V4R 15/ 42. So anyone considering that work will be very pleased indeed.
My lawyers will be submitting my property claims this week, and hopefully I will have the bike by the first week in March. Right around the Phillip Island race weekend! All the replacement goodies I had on the 2018 have been ordered as well. MRI's this week to see what is going on with my neck and spine as certainly I took a big hit.
You all be safe out there as well!
