I'm inclined to agree with mark419ny on this one. Why do I want to give my money to someone I never met or even know or hasn't done crap for me. My dealer gives me an upfront discount of 10% on anything (except new bikes) I buy. I do check online prices to see if my dealer is giving me a fair shake and he does and often beats those prices. Screw a couple of bucks, if you don't support your local guy he might not be around to service your ride.

I think we're all saying the same thing, I was speaking in general. There are some on this forum that think if you pay more you get less, and since we paid a lot for this bike, it helps justifying paying the more for the same thing.

4k helmet. That's just crazy. I can only imagine low siding and being more upset about my helmet then my bike lmao.

im with you on ebay trauma for sure. i carboned my whole bike out for the price that people spend for say 4 items. . 100% carbon too not the 50/50 stuff. i did get some shift tech stuff that i couldnt find anywhere else and shift is agreat products but if i could have found it cheaper i would have bought the cheaper stuff. No way on saving 100 bucks on a 4 k helmet though thats insane.

whats the big deal between a 4k helmet, or 4k in carbon/magnesium wheels, 4k in full termi system, 4k in carbon, or 4k in caliper/rotors, or 4 in brake/clutch master cylinders. .. all are 4k - but apparently some people put more weight/justification in one things over another ? I mean theoretically why wouldn't something that /might/ protect your head just a tiny bit better should be worth more than something purely visual, or aural ?

Are these proved to be better, or just lighter, with the same protection? I think the people that scoff at this price, wouldn't spend 4k on all those items you mention that would replace items that are very high quality to begin with.

no difference at all. i agree with you. im just saying i wouldnt buy it on ebay. id get it from the stealership

You won't hit your head if you lowside, but your bike will have more than 4k worth of damage that's for sure.

I hit my head on a lowside once, but it only scratched up the side of the shield where my face/side of my head bounced off the tarmac. I still use the shield :)

Given the relative exclusivity of the 2013 Arai Isle of Man helmet, (240? for the US market) one might think that they be numbered as well. I was able to find a handwritten lot number on a tag inside the helmet. I think it's pretty cool that AGV did that with their Rossi helmets. Hec, the Simoncelli Tribute helmet even comes with a t-shirt! :D

Yeah here's mine after a highside at Pacific Raceways lol. Funny story about this actually. I had just bought a smoke shield from Renton Motorsports the day before. After I crashed, we went to back Renton Motorsports, I wanted to buy another smoke shield for my next Arai because they were half the price in the States.

So we walk in with the helmet, I've got my arm in a sling and bandaged up. Go to the accessories section and ask for an Arai shield, said to the girl, "Yeah I was just in yesterday to buy a shield, it was a little scratched up and I couldn't see, so I crashed my bike this morning, is that covered under warranty?" The look on her face  .

Then we go check out the used bikes...start chatting up with the salesman. My friend starts telling this guy that we were just in to get a new shield for my helmet, then shows him the helmet. The look on his face  . LOL then he says, "WHAT?!?! You can't use that helmet!!!!!" Bwhahahahaha

Arai Cosair V RC Finally Arrived!!

It finally arrived! and its sweet. Not a smudge or defect and its perfect. I couldn't get the Ducati version of the Arai Carbon Fiber at cost, so i decided to get the Arai Cosair V RC. I'm kind of glad I did so I can wear it with all my bikes and not just with the Pani. The helmet is very very light, about 1/2 lbs lighter than my regular Cosair V and feels lighter than my Nexx carbon. The weight distribution is even and it really feels like you are not wearing a helmet.

Awesome Helmet - Congratulations.

Thanks CaliDuc. Did you ever get your RXV carbon? From my understanding Arai is back logged on the carbon helmets and it took a long time for mine to come in. I almost forgot that I had ordered one, until my buddy who ordered it for me called and told me that the helmet was in.

How much was it all in and where did you order it from?

Must say since I am an Arai guy, this really interests me.

Can you please post more pictures of that ducayi helmet ? I'd like to see the front more and how the carbon goes with the lines

Im looking for one now
