How many of you have changed from the stock seat?

I'm trying to weigh up whether to change my seat. I'm not worried about heat or how comfortable it is, now that I'm spending more time on the track I find it quite slippery.

I realise this topic has been covered many times but thought I'd raise it again to see who has changed their seat and why?

If I do change it I'll go the DP race seat. I want to know who has changed to this seat and has also done some track work, is it worth the money or am I better off getting my stock seat recovered?

I don't want the comfort seat, as I'm over 6ft I don't want to place unnecessary pressure on my wrists. Have any of you found this is a problem?

The Luimoto seat covers look smart when new but a friend of mine has one and it has started looking old in a short space of time, anyone have thoughts on this?

I got the comfort seat, the stock seat is a slippery BOARD! The comfort seat is one step down from velcro and holds your ass in one place. The first thing most these guys say to do first is swap your seat. Im happy i did it and im going to imagine you will hear the same from 95% of the other owners..... I havent seen the race seat so i cant comment on it. Im 6ft 240 lbs, my wrists are fine with the comfort seat

I have the comfort seat and I love it. Many here with the race seat also love that. Worth ir for sure

I'm trying to weigh....

haven't done track yet, but definitely worth the money I paid for (race). I also bought the passenger seat, my GF and my nuts are way happier now.

Instead of suing Ducati for heat issues we should sue them for the dangerous stock seat. Leathers + stock = fall off the bike in 5 seconds.

Minor Issue, seat height goes up a couple of centimetres, I'm 1.75 tall and I was border line with stock seat so now I have to stand on my toes a little. ...no big drama for me

Thanks guys, comments appreciated. Purchased race seat for £165, figure that's a reasonable price. Hopefully get it before track day next weekend!

I retrimmed my stock seat in Neoprene.

Being a short arse I didn't like the extra height increase on the race / comfort seat.

I'm waiting for the official release of the 1199R as I believe the seat it factory trimmed in Alcantara / Neoprene but maintains the stock seat profile so I'll just order one when it comes out.

Great alternative (at least for those here in Europe) are seats by RACE SEATS in Italy. Take a look at RACE SEATS
Prices for EU are on the Italian website. Extra plus is that they put your name on it if you want to without etxra charging it.
Takes about 1 week for production + shipping

Opted for the comfort seat as most of my riding is 3 or 4 day weekends. Last trip was 4 days and 2600 kms in the saddle. Just started to to feel uncomfortable (but not sore) in the last half day, so all in all, brilliant!

Race seat for me. The OE seat was like polished teflon. The race seat holds yer butt where you put it.

For the price Ducati might have done us a favor and put a decent covering on the OE seat.

i have custom made seats. inexpensive, hard, a bit lower but perfect for me

race seat with 1/2 the height of the foam cut out of it.

Same here, I found it to tall and narrow, feels like you're perched on top of the bike. I removed the cover and re-sculpted the seat with an electric carving knife. It now holds me perfectly in place and feels more like sitting in the bike which I prefer. I'm 6'2" so I've also fitted a Cyclops bar conversion with 90 degree bars but only raised by about 20mm. Perfect set up for me.
