The new Honda RC213V-S will cost a freaking FORTUNE!!!!

Because of its non-production-line/hand-built origins, Nomura also emphasized in that interview back in November that the RC213V-S will be a very limited production machine. "It will be very limited, but no final number has been decided. This is a Honda product, not an HRC product, but it will be very exclusive." And the limited number will also mean that the price tag for the RC213V-S will be stratospheric. When we guessed a price of around €250,000 Euros (approximately $310,000), Nomura answered, "That would be almost right, we have not yet decided on a price as yet because we have not built the bike. It will be a very high price."
And what about horsepower levels? "Over 200 horsepower," replied Nomura.

$310,000 Are they on CRACK!!

Makes the price I paid for my 1299S seem positively frugal. :D

And who is going to pay that money? Answer: the same ones that paid 250k for ringside tickets to watch the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fluck...

Honda motorcycle or Lamborghini Aventador? Tough choice.
Seriously... That IS Aventador/488 Ferrari territory... Absurd. What is anyone going to do with a $310,000 motorcycle, other than put it in a museum collection and stare at it? No one would DARE take it to a trackday for fear of catastrophic financial loss...
:eek::eek::eek:

Hopefully they're going to update the CBR1000RR next year because old, ugly and slow is no way to go through life

I rather have this weinermobile

I still think that Honda is vaporware. Whole lot of "if's, maybe, possibly" in all the interviews since they finally took the covers off it. I just think it was a way to stay in the news since they haven't done anything major with their sportbikes since the first iPhone came out.

Comparing a non-production model to, well, anything, isn't really fair.

When I originally read about the 213V, they claimed 240hp with a capability to make a ton more.

Aren't they into the 214V or even further now? I stopped following retail Honda-specifics after I sold my 1000rr to "slow down". After a few failed attempts to feed that passion with "slower bikes", here we are in a 1299s though.

I think it's great that Honda are willing to produce a bike like this but I would prefer to see them put their efforts into uodating the cbr1000. The bike must be at least 8 years old and badly needs a complete overhaul

Yup, will be going into its 8th year on this gen. The SP has been going for a couple of years now, which is the 1000rr with a few better components.

Although long over due, it is a great bike. After some mods, mine put down 181 WHP. Never felt a bike that could lull you sleep, but also take you as far as you like.

The Superleggera was out of a lot of peoples budgets or scope for all the same reasons like sold out, didn't want to track it, stick it in a collection etc. A year or so later I own a machine with that same engine and most of the tech.

It's an engineering exercise, same as the SL was. Once made the technology will be made reliable, line produced and filter down to the masses. Without this bike, current models will not progress or evolve. Honda have to make this bike to rejuvinate their aging superbike line.

Regardless of the price tag for this particular model Honda must make this bike for long term progress, they already know it won't make them millions, that's not the point or why they're building it

I don't think this bike will cost anywhere near €250,000....

I think you are wrong. It will be expensive and exclusive. Australian MCN are quoting 200K euros. Lots of rich people out there that like motorcycles.

Seems like a lot of speculation quotes so far. Trauma said he saw $171,000 early this year, which is still almost $100,000 from €250,000.

I'm not arguing that it will be expensive and exclusive. I was simply saying I don't think it will be close to the mentioned €250,000 price tag.

ETA: I was also speaking in reference to stateside pricing. Last I checked a 1199R was around $40,000 in Australia, so there's no telling what the price difference might be on the Honda.

If someone wants to start a pool on what they think the Honda will be, I'm in.

Part of Honda's problem is they have production in too many products. Jet's, cars, generators, lawn equipement, Motorcycles, dirt bikes, Financing.

The list goes on but as you continue to spread revenue and resources whether human or material, the quality of the product and the ability to build a better product will go down. I for one will never buy another Honda car based on my experience with the last one I had. Look at the Civic Type R, it would sell amazingly in the States and they could find a way to get around EPA laws and finally are, apparently but its taken so long, the target market is moving on.

Honda made a great economical product in the 1990's through 2005. That's when it started to go down hill. I have also owned 4 Honda motorcycles, no problems there. This is just my observation. (No, I didnt put a potato can muffler on my Honda and hit VTEC)
