Inflation is out of control

It is quite depressing how, while there was plenty I didn't like about it, my first handful of years in the Navy had me proud of what I was doing. Felt like I was a part of something bigger than myself.

Then 2019 happened and it has been a catastrophic downhill ever since. The organization has stopped being about war and is now just an arm of the reigning political party. I've gone from proud of my service to embarrassed of my service. Everyone at every meeting ever looks at me like I have a dick growing out of my forehead when I ask, "How does any of this make us better at killing people!?" It's depressing how an organization designed to kill enemies of the country considers you a black sheep because you make heinous statements like, "Talking about pronouns while our enemy tirelessly trains to kill us does not increase our mission effectiveness."
You served, and like the rest of us, had some level of delusion at some point, some had it more than others. The .... in that pot is what we all made of this place. We took an amazing place and turned it into a toilet. Every time I go to some aviators reunion I’m somewhat embarrassed to be in the same room as my predecessors who actually have something to be proud of. Again unfortunately, it’s all been turned to ..... I digress, we’re all to blame for being fat, dumb and happy and doing absolutely nothing about it. This coming economy is going to .... a lot of people, including probably many on this forum. You enjoyed the peach, now it’s time for the cyanide in the pit.

D'you know, in Japan they sell the Fireblade with a kit loom and race ecu, at dealerships. A friend bought one and shipped it here, cost him the same as the SP road bike. It would very much suit me if Ducati did the same!

Do you have details on how he did this? Who he bought it through and who handled the export/import etc.?

First of all I want to thank you for your service!
I can definitely relate to what you are talking about but on civilian level. I came to this country 25 y/a as a refugee with a plastic bag of clothes. Greatness of this country and hard work of mine and my spouse helped us to do really good for ourselves. Country I stepped my foot in and today’s US are two different countries, present one is definitely different In worse way than 25 y/a! This is still a great country, my country my home and it anger’s me what born Americans turning it to be and .... all over it even though majority of them never sacrifice anything for it but leached anything and everything they could from it!!!

He did it himself, he lived in Japan for about ten years. Can ask him re export/import companies (Japan to UK).

Yeh, I'd be interested. I'm in the US however. And have heard that it is difficult to import a bike here from Japan unless it is 25+ years old.

Endo with respect, try to keep this out of the personal realm, its beneath you.

Andy is saying that a base V4 with aftermarket bling is better than an SL- yeah right... I am pointing out that you get what you pay for, but a $30 part that does the job of a $100 one is just good business on Ducatis part and gets a bike to the market at a price you can afford since I can't even see you coughing up 250k plus for a scooter that you approaches your idea of perfection and neither can Ducati. As for inflation, everyone has an opinion but even economists cant reach consensus on the real causes or how to control it.
No I DIDNT SAY THAT!.... I said the 22 base with bling is better than the SP...

That SP is a turd. Saw that left over parts special with the not so left over price tag at COTA last year. ....... junk. That being said, if ya have to have a V4, get the R, commit to spending some $$ and get it how you like it.

I wouldn't kick it out of bed for farting but i get your point, it's a probably the most milquetoast attempt at the "ultimate track machine" out of Ducati in a while

Took these at COTA. Cheap cast triple, garbage OEM masters, dog .... hardware, and the cast components look Chinese. That’s north of 40k? ....... nuts.

To be fair Endo controlled fill casting is a major advance in motorcycle manufacturing and one reason why aftermarket guy go for machined parts is that CF casting is way too expensive, pretty sure Ducati still use "Ritter Vacural vacuum die-casting" for at least some of it components and the parts are light and strong.

To the degree which it matters...low volume parts aren't cast because its too expensive. No big secret there, but an off the showroom floor bike doesn't need WSBK quality stuff. It wouldn't make the manufacturer any money and no one would buy it.

No one serious about tracking a bike is buying a SP.

I’m working with Intech Trailers now on a build. All aluminum and they build anything you want. Doing a flat recessed pneumatic lift in the floor, flat panel air thanks in the floor space (no bulky compressor tank) Moduline Cabinets, full shop, nice bathroom and bedroom. Their build quality is amazing.

I was actually looking at one of their smaller toy hauler/camper options to fit my storage and budget needs. They make some interesting stuff.
