I’d like to get some basic data and lap timing, maybe a camera system to see my lines etc.

Educate me guys, I’m completely new to that stuff.

Looking for relatively easy install, as far as data goes, lean angle would be cool but not highest priority, would like to see how hard I’m getting on the brakes and where, lag time between throttle and braking, ramp of of throttle coming off apex’s. All in an easy to use format.

Alternatively, if I just want lap timing what’s the options there too.

AIM solo 2plug and play.

Read it through free software race studio 3 you can also load pretty much all the tracks into the software before you attend, or let it learn at the location.

even just get the GPS unit don't bother with the DDA you'll get your lap times...

I want exactly that, how exactly do I do it lol

The whole thing, complete noob to this stuff, want that video with that info overlay etc.

I have the DDA + GPS, what camera system did you use and how user friendly is it to sync the overlays on the video?

I think AIM may offer this? Check their website.

Looks like it comes with 3 camera aperture options, 67,84,and 120 degrees, any plus’s or minus’s to those?

This is a better camera too👍

If you already have the DDA and GPS, it seems wasteful not to use those things. The camera @RdashP used is a GoPro 7 Black. There is a thread on here about that setup. The GoPro 7 is probably out of production by now. I think they're up to the 11.

I have ran I2M dash last 2 bikes, amazing for data, not amazing for navigating // translating the OEM setup. I ran the aim stuff for a while, I really cannot be bothered with a cluttered cockpit - and while the aim is really best bang for he buck I am positive is could be 1/3rd the size also they have not been able to bridge the gap to MAC + OS for years even tho they have been saying they would.

My I2M Chrome Pro 2 for sale right now with left hand switches

I saw that, my hang up with that is it looks like a lot of work/time spent sorting it, and there’s those waivers on AIM’s sight saying they don’t recommend removing the Ducati dash to avoid gremlins, that’s a whole can of worms I don’t want to open or navigate.

Key for me is simplicity of actual use once it’s set up

How does one get the overlay of the bike and track info like that with a GoPro?

its a trade off for sure...
The OEM setup always is missing something, you should be able to use it and the gps just like these after market products.
+It should recognize the track and if not after one lap it should remember then let you set finish / start

Looking forward to seeing how the new OEM setup will work for me

Dashware is the software, but the hard part is converting the DDA file to a CSV file for use in Dashware. RaceRender and TrackAddict are additional programs.

Some info here...

Just from what I've read, the DDA to CSV conversion is the big hurdle to jump over. There seems to be a difference with the 1199 to 1299 and newer DDA files. One of the threads mentioned an Android app. If you hate Android as much as I do, you can get emulators to run on a Windows PC which will allow you to use Android apps.

Motec data logging is probably the easiest to use. Bit pricier though.

I actually lol’d at this at first but after considering the rest of this thread I think this post is on point.

AIM if you want plug and play.

Motec and if you just wanna play.
