LAP timers

Hey Steven... any updates on this?

I received my Motocorsa kit but I'm weary of how strong the clamping force on the fork will be.

It utilizes a 120mm stroke damper rather than the Melotti 140 and the adjustment knob is not as accessible.

Haven't installed it yet but looking forward to.

Man we ended up putting that on the back burner for now, my H20 radiator was getting in the way, in a way that was going to require some fabrication and engineering to get around

I’m told those tubes can handle a good amount of clamping force so I wouldn’t worry there, all the racing teams do those side mounted steering dampers

What is that wizardry we're looking at?

Racebox Mini S. It was a challenging install.

On one hand it should be better than DDA bc you basically set it and forget it and getting it off the device is super simple. On the other hand, no timing on the dash (not a big deal for me since I don’t care about time really)

Does it plug in to the bike and record data? Or, just a GPS lap timer?

GPS, accelerometer, and gyro. I’m not seeing any OBD/CANBUS connection so no bike data.

Allegedly the GPS is accurate to 10 cm. Connects via BT to your smartphone or tablet for off-track analysis. Smartphone UI looks nice. Data is exportable.

Some thoughts and data off the RaceBox Mini S lap timer. Took a bit of time to figure out how to get it working. Basically, you have to start a ”session” through your connected smartphone either at the beginning and end of the session. You could start it at the beginning of the day and stop it at the end but you won’t be able to analyze the data between sessions if you do this. It’ll throw out any static data. Data is pretty basic: speed, acceleration, and lean. But this is good enough for me since I’m only doing this for fun and self-improvement. You won’t get any data from the bike like throttle position, brake pressure, etc. It seems that the GPS is fine enough to differentiate lines. I wish they made an iPad app with scaled up map and graphs (hopefully this is in the pipeline). You can view sessions online but there’s no comparison feature (that I could find). Here’s a sample of the comparison from my best lap to an avg one:

The lap comparison is neat, thanks.
