And one more thing, be honest, how many of you that ride 1000 haven’t wished for more bottom and mid end ?

Low end grunt yes, but I believe the primary motivation for the higher cc is horsepower. Horsepower sells bikes. How can one not want to buy the bike with journalists saying it us the fastest bike tested yada yada.....

I mean I want one....damn magazines empty my wallet lol

That's not what Ducati has actually SAID on the matter, they said the 1000cc version of the engine could make the same top-end HP as the 1100cc, just that it has less lower-rpm torque and they thought it would be a better all-around bike with the meatier torque curve. I suspect when we see the V4R next year it will have similar, if not identical, top-end HP.

No, it isnt. Its in exactly the same class as all the other superbikes when you look at weight, handling, power, ergonomics, intended use, etc. The extra displacement gives it more torque for a better street experience. There's nothing stopping the other manufacturers from doing the same. They chose not to. Their loss. Comparing the v4 panigale to h2 or busa class bikes makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

You don't need an extra 100cc for more street torque. You have to sacrifice done top end power. Ducati wanted it all, so they cheated. It's okay, it's s street bike.

Other manufacturers don't do it because it cost money to develop two engines, and it's not worth it. Ducati's answer to this additional cost in development is to raise the price, figuring their fans boys would pay, because it has the most power.

Can't wait to see if this strategy works.

Don’t think it takes a lot of development cost to bump up the cc .?
I mean most of the engine is the same .

H2 !!! Omg why would anyone bring that up unless they wanted to go drag racing.
Well at least it looks better than that Suzuki Camelbusa!!

Put H2 into WSBK...See results please..Get back to me...
Then put down kool-aid and Benzo's
Thanks for visiting!!!!;):p:mad:

If that's the case, then why didn't Aprilia just do that with their Tuono instead of going to 1100?

What’s that old saying.........”there’s no replacement for displacement “
I like what Ducati did.
Dunno why they didn’t go to 1200cc straight away? They will probably do that in a year or 2

Probably.:)

44Teeth also put the V4 on the Dyno, against the Aprilia V4...

Those numbers, though more conservative than the 202 and 198 from Motorapido and MCN respectively, look great when you put them in context. The gap in hp is actually bigger on this dyno vs the RSV4 RF than it was on MCN's dyno: 188 vs 180 against 198 vs 192. With the bike properly broken in, expect those figures to rise a bit.
