MCN puts the V4 on a dyno!

I for one, am glad to see 44teeth bring people back down to reality about the V4. This was an honest dyno run with real talk and not a bunch of hype. Just strap it up and go right to the chart. Should people be disappointed in the numbers? Hell no! This bike is in its first year with load of potential. And everyone remember. The true use of a dyno is to help tune a bike. The V4 could make 188HP but after tuning it may make 202HP. My point being that dynos have way to many variables to be the judge of how much HP a single bikes in comparison to other bikes. To make proper comparisons you need to use the same dyno on the same day with a room that temp and humid are controlled very tightly and to insure parity..

I believe Norton beat Ducati with the V4 cheater engine first (I know the Tuono is 1100cc but not in the same “class” from the previous discussion points). So not that ground breaking of an idea.

The 1299R FE put down 185 on this dyno too. Different days.

My dealer just got a dyno. I'll strap on my 1199R with upmap then v4s with up map back to back, after I break her in past the 1000km mark. Should be more of an apples to apples comparison.

True. Also u can't compare to a single R1 or RSV etc. you have to compare to a batch, both std and tuned.
One thing I can attest to, is that a s1000rr feels fast and does good dyno numbers. The 1299 never really felt fast , yet did high dyno numbers too.
Can't wait to test the V4 !
