....... A! Let's make an 1199 BSTR run! That would be crazy! Who else wants in?

Gotta go by AH outline:

Don't plan anything that doesn't need to be planned
Stay somewhere until I get bored or restless, then move on
Don't become attached to anything I can't walk away from in 5 minutes
Don't end up in a hospital or morgue

That's it.

And women in every port, don't forget that one! And to loosely quote the Matrix, "Beer, we're going to need lotsa beer".

My main advice, like they say, do not drink the water, and don't drink a bunch of smoothies, because they are made from the water (who'd of thunk?). Avoid Federales, GPS map data doesn't download, tire repair kit, etc. Oh, and beads to trade the natives for gas.

AR-15's for the rip through Mexico at warp speed Iron Bottom style!

Who's gonna get decapitated first? Or should we Ship the bikes to Panama and start there?

Here's the best I can do on short notice. Maybe there's a Ram mount for my Colt :)

Oh and we kind of just completely threadjacked this thread. My apologies! Back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Got a phone call today from Argyll in Edmonton. They told me they got delivery of their first R this morning. So it looks like Rs are now delivering in Canada. It also looks like I have to put 600km on the truck. Argyll also said they are still taking orders on Rs they've pre-ordered if anyone out our way is interested.

my new HERO = antihero!

why no love for SIGS? that's my firearm of choice...

First off. Sigs are fantastic weapon of choice. I personally have 3. I was a small arm instructor for quite some time. Sig 1911's and glock. End of story.

And I really wanna do this cross world ride. Is this forum chat or real? Sounds like a superb trip.

And scratch the Laphtoaig 18. I just found a old bottle of Yamazaki 18. Woah Ill supply scotch for the trip

Made NO mention of base... ;)

But I think with a Austin Exhaust/something that bridges the gap in hp & torque, a GREAT tune, shorter gearing/sprocket, someone that knows how to set up a suspension (sag, rebound, compression, the right springs, etc), a nice set of rearsets, a S (dare I say base - lol) wouldn't be dusted by an R at a track and would offer similar levels of performance for less change...

Am I wrong???

you are right. but most will not buy the R/S to shave seconds or less at track -- at least i won't -- disclaimer: i'm circling the R.

I think it's quite foolish to skimp on ABS at this stage of the game, imnsho. and to then add farkles and bling over time and not have ABS is worse than foolish....
