Ok here goes... I got a set of Metzeler M7RR tires to run on the pani and see if they lived up to what Metzeler said about them. I'll break it down into 2 sections. Street and Track.
Street
Right after installed it was pouring rain and they were flawless. I never once saw a TC Light and have more confidence in the rain on these than any tire ever. I even started pushing it while it was raining and nothing. Not a slip at all. And that was in sport mode not wet mode. On cold morning roads same thing. Flawless, absolutely brilliant. Not even cold tearing from hitting the on ramps and gassing it pretty good. Warm roads the traction got even better. Only slight negative was that at normal play speed on the roads I noticed that I really didn't have alot of feedback from it, but then again it was on the street so meh..
Street Rating - 4.99999999 of 5 stars.. Best sportbike street tire I've ever ridden in 20 years of riding.
Track
Metzeler said it functions as a Street/Trackday tire. I say Horrendous. On the track whether it was cold track already hot etc whatever these are the absolute worst trackday tire ever made. Zero and I mean zero traction. I run top of Advanced Group bottom of Expert group and I was passed by almost every single A group rider yesterday and everyone came up talking about my bike sliding everywhere. I know I felt it. In one turn at about 1/2 of my normal pace my bike and I slid for about 4 feet before the tires grabbed. So after a bit more research we found out this is a basically a Superhard tire with a Hard Carcass. I had zero feedback and after running mid A group pace the tire was still not warm at all. These tires cost me my trackday today and strongly advise these only be ridden on the street as they are a Phenomenal streetbike tire. These were billed as a comp to the SP.. I found out later yesterday that the SP/SC equivalent is the Racetech RR from them and that they are flawless on the track.
