MotoGP at COTA Who's going?

Which grandstand will you be watching the race from? I'll be honest, I'm in the village above the pits and the front straight is becoming pretty boring.

Our tickets are for t15 and that's probably where we'll watch the race from. Dont wanna be walking around everywhere and miss the race, plus not sure if they'll allow as much roaming during the race either.

We checked out the front straight this morning, on the grass at the end of the main grandstands. It was incredible hearing the gp bikes at full throttle with the sound bouncing off the grandstands and pit lane. You don't get that at t15 or anywhere else that we went. One of the highlights for me. I could see how watching the front straight the whole time would get a little old though.

I was also at t15, good spot to watch the race, that is sort the only place anything happened. Boring race, good to see pecco get on the box. And seeing Miller get dive bombed then absolutely put mir in his place after the race!!!

Also Fabio is basically WC now which I love! Misano will be the amazing to watch, Fabio to claim, pecco to fight, and vale to have a final farewell in Italy ! ! !

I had paddock passes which was insane, seeing everything up close is mind blowing.

Yeah the race was pretty boring unfortunately, especially if you're not a Marquez fan. Moto 2 and 3 races were pretty good though. Good to see Beubier fighting at the front.

Out of curiosity in case we decide to go again, how do you guys get the vip and/or paddock passes? When I got our tickets online, I didnt see any of those options. Would've loved a pit pass.

Was it worth it?

Did you get a lap around the track? Was it at a decent pace or just a for show kind of thing.

At MISANO the Ducati package value was, Ducati parking far away from the track with Gear Check. That's it. No Island, nothing else.
Gear Check is priceless, but they hyped a lot more then didn't show. Too many restrictions I think.
How was it at COTA?

I always get the Ducati package when I’m at Laguna Seca and it’s always been worth it. It was totally not worth it at COTA. The swag was the weakest ever, the “island” wasn’t organized at all, the seats were worse than the ones (non-Ducati package) I had originally purchased, we were not surrounded by other Ducati package customers, etc. We didn’t take advantage of the gear check, Ducati island parking, or parade lap because we flew in from CA. FYI: the gear check is no big deal because COTA offered a free gear check.

I got my paddock passes from Paolo Ciabatti

COTA was awesome as usual, and the weather turned out OK. Except it was dang hot for the MotoGP race.
Ducati Island was more like Ducati parking area. It wasn't anything like year's past, but there is no telling how the pandemic played into their decisions.
Texas is pretty open regarding restrictions, and COTA reflected that, except they got rid of the paddock passes, and you had to have a negative test to go indoors for the grandstands. There was free movement throughout the track and few people masked up.

We sat at Turn 15 and I got a few cool pictures. High resolution images are HERE.

We had the Village passes (free food, Booz and AC) plus the shuttle to the car made egress super easy. Met a couple of guys from the board and some riders from SoCal. Watched the Q and races from different points.
Not a great race but WTF, I’m at motogp so, all good. Compared to 2019, the venue was definitely de-tuned but that was to be expected. We went and got the Covid test Thursday afternoon when we landed. Test was a joke, no ID required and if you wanted to pay 18 bucks, no proof of a ticket. I didn’t see anyone fail.
Thanks to youpaiyou for the hospitality on Friday, much appreciate

Going to Spain for the last race on the 14th. Should be a Rossi extravaganza.

LOL right, everyone I talked to was sweating up to that point then we saw what it was and I’m sure half the people stuck the Q in there but very little “swabbing” took place. I think it was all a formality for someone to sign off on. Ha, no big deal but you definitely relaxed a bit when they handed you that wristband. Then you get in the venue and they turn you loose with all the untested. Genius.

clearly extra $$$ and to make Dorna/maybe local gov happy
If you had your VIP pass, they didn’t charge for the test at least they didn’t charge us. 18 bucks if you didn’t have credentials. Absolutely nothing preventing a person with an outside negative test from showing up, paying 18 bucks and walking out with a wristband and giving that band to a positive person. No ID check. If it was legit, they should have verified ID matched the receipt for the pass and stamped something. Like I said, test was a joke to satisfy some paperwork.

glad i went with my bro, was going to boycott over the covid test BS. ended up great and the test was for show. we had village vip passes and only missed first practice friday morning. incredible how these bikes rip. our hotel was at the airport so in and out was a breeze. they better get track fixed or they are not coming back.
