MotoGP at COTA Who's going?

I don’t remember but I think others are on Instagram complaining as well.

If you watch track video, the bouncing is very apparent.

I’m there all weekend, so I’m in the stands, not so evident from on site, but I watched the replays last night, and it looks very dangerous..

Marquez said its awful too. Not sure why that's controversial... just need to drive in the general area of COTA to realize there's something messed up w the ground there.

Also Joan Mir.

That section is a mess. I’m looking at it right now. They just won’t fix it. The facility is excellent. The track needs work. This ain’t Europe.

I don't think Texas normally gets a freeze/thaw cycle except for that winter storm that kicked their ass a while back. Combine that with soil which has a lot of clay, concrete and the like is going to crack and settle poorly.

Don't think the freeze had much to do w it. Maybe it aggravated it, but it's been sketchy for a while. I know folks blame the load from F1 cars, but the roads around COTA have the same issue... heaving is how I would describe it.

Its not going to be an easy fix, the show must go on in the meantime but surely there is a better circuit in the US? Miller says its the same for everyone so just deal with it, gives an insight into how stiff and powerful MotoGP bikes are when you hear how punishing it is physically. There were a few comments on how it might be ok for a streetbike, anyone here ride it regularly?

You can see them hitting a large bump in t14 from the t15 stands we are viewing from. Its pretty noticeable. I know there are others as well, but that's the main one we can see.

On a side note - this track and the facility is amazing compared to the hole in the walls we have up in the PNW. Yeah including the ridge. Probably walked close to 10 miles today viewing from every area we could get to including the top of the tower. Almost everywhere has great viewing. Gonna have to come back some day with my bike to do a trackday. Having a blast so far besides the heat and humidity!

Hey ryfly05, I’m at the track with a few other guys from the board. Let’s meet up tomorrow and say hi. It’s been great meeting everyone. I’m in the Village. I’ll PM you my #

Which grandstand will you be watching the race from? I'll be honest, I'm in the village above the pits and the front straight is becoming pretty boring.
