Nah, I don't excuse poor communication because they are small. I expect that if you run a business, and you have a telephone line, when I call, someone answers, or you return an email within a business day. A few weeks ago I called Bellissimoto about a clutch slave cylinder, someone picked up, I talked to the dude for like 15 - 20 minutes. I was concerned that the one I wanted didn't look like it wasn't going to fit, and I kinda wanted black, but they only had Titanium and Ergal. I have no idea what color is Ergal. Being unsure about titahium, the guy went out, pulled a titanium slave cylinder from the box and said, this is not an exact match for your 1299, but it's going to be very close. It looks slightly brighter, but it's very slight. Then he said, the other guy in the shop said its a direct fit, don't worry. If it doesn't fit, send it back, we are not going to leave you hanging. Just look at it, and if its not right, don't install it and call me back. I didn't even order it with him on that call. I ordered online, got it a few days later, he was right, it was a direct fit, and it was as he said, slighting brighter. In fact, I'm glad i went with Titanium because I've seen black slave cylinders and they do look a little out of place. Titanium was the right color for me.
That's the type of service you expect from a smaller retailer, they take a personal interest in making sure you get want you need. That normally starts with a conversation with them.
My interaction with motomillion did not require that level of service, but if I felt I needed to call, and no one answered during business hours, I would have bought from someone else. I love to shop small and if possible local business, but if I have to hunt them down and I'm waiting days for them to respond, I am not going to do business with them now or in the future.
