Historically, the main advantage a small business offers compared to a large business is personalized service and individual attention.

I agree, but when I pick up the phone or send an email, at the very least I expect to hear from them in 24hr. Tell me what I ordered is not available, that's fine. Most of the time I will wait. But don't have me calling and emailing you. You have one business day to return my call or email. That's it, that's the bar.

I ordered gilles VCR38GT rearsets from a smallish type of place. They didn't come come, I call, someone answered. He followed up with an email. I called again, guess what, dude answered and told me the truth, he had no idea when they were going to come in. I wasn't pissed cause I talked to him. I simply ordered something else I wanted, and he processed a refund for the difference. It was that easy. You run a business big or small, you need to be available during business hours.

I agree with you. :)

If you read my other posts in this thread, you’ll see they are critical of motomillion re: these reports of poor communication. Your previous post seemed to be excusing the poor communication due to them being a small business. I responded saying that typically, I expect BETTER communication from a small business.

I’ll reiterate - my limited individual experience with Mani and motomillion has been favorable, but some communication was slow.

I to had experienced similar results from several orders placed with this vendor, that being said ,
After Mani reached out to me .he said the best way to contact him (what’s app ) he said he is at his computer every morning Monday to Friday
That is how I have been able to get a hold of him.
One more thing I send him those message the very first thing in the morning 5:00 am . Hope that helps

cheers

Thanks for the heads up but we shouldn’t have to jump though hoops to buy motorcycle parts.

If he is on his computer every morning, why do we need to use anything other then their “contact us”link on their site?

Nah, I don't excuse poor communication because they are small. I expect that if you run a business, and you have a telephone line, when I call, someone answers, or you return an email within a business day. A few weeks ago I called Bellissimoto about a clutch slave cylinder, someone picked up, I talked to the dude for like 15 - 20 minutes. I was concerned that the one I wanted didn't look like it wasn't going to fit, and I kinda wanted black, but they only had Titanium and Ergal. I have no idea what color is Ergal. Being unsure about titahium, the guy went out, pulled a titanium slave cylinder from the box and said, this is not an exact match for your 1299, but it's going to be very close. It looks slightly brighter, but it's very slight. Then he said, the other guy in the shop said its a direct fit, don't worry. If it doesn't fit, send it back, we are not going to leave you hanging. Just look at it, and if its not right, don't install it and call me back. I didn't even order it with him on that call. I ordered online, got it a few days later, he was right, it was a direct fit, and it was as he said, slighting brighter. In fact, I'm glad i went with Titanium because I've seen black slave cylinders and they do look a little out of place. Titanium was the right color for me.

That's the type of service you expect from a smaller retailer, they take a personal interest in making sure you get want you need. That normally starts with a conversation with them.

My interaction with motomillion did not require that level of service, but if I felt I needed to call, and no one answered during business hours, I would have bought from someone else. I love to shop small and if possible local business, but if I have to hunt them down and I'm waiting days for them to respond, I am not going to do business with them now or in the future.

They have always been great to me, I had issues and I talked back and fourth threw text. Everytime I’ve ordered it goes out the next day, just ordered a new windscreen and it will be here tomorrow.

I was being cocky before at the beginning of the tyrannical lockdowns that all the companies are using it as an excuse... except mine

without customers, you have no business.

Word of mouth is the best advertising except when you have a couple of upset customers
Maybe they underestimated how particular American Duc owners are or maybe they’re so busy they don’t need your business.

Plenty of [other] places to buy parts.
@cycler sent me so much good stuff during the lockdowns and his prices are always better than moto even With a 650ib discount code

I linked up with him to customize a race suit Jan of 2020 and since then he’s given me special prices on a few Arai helmets, cnc racing, cox racing, puig & Zard products and hours of tech (install) support on the phone.

now he’s got me priced up for a S&S T124 for my Harley. Comparing pricing from elsewhere, it’s worth a shoutout to forum members like me who aren’t rich like the Porsche collectors here, so it’s important for my dollars to go as far as they can. I can’t just create them out of nothing like [FED]

before I connected w him, I didn’t know any better and ordered all my accessories from Motomillion and the parts dept @ Duc dealership

Great service, I actually expect MORE from smaller companies because they haven't outsourced to third world call centres or ...... fake AI voice directions that leave you hanging to elevator music interrupted with adverts on how great their service is.

Unbeknownst to most business's virtually all humans searching for goods and services other than on Bezos's platform just want to speak to a person who has a brain.
