Next you need to remove that ugly exhaust cover that comes on the new models. Nice bike.

I agree:-
Looks like I have to remove exhaust to get to the rear heat shield fasteners ?
Plan on wrapping that rear section down to the spring tab area, approx foot peg height

1400+ miles of pure fun, zero problems. I need lighter rear spring since I cannot set sag correctly only have around 22mm seated, front looks ok. Just changed oil & filter Motul 300V 15w/50.

I know a couple of people complained that I have total lack of respect for the law, i.e no mirrors or turn signals, I have made a small concession, a CNG Mirror just 1,

mainly to check what kind of car maybe be behind, also just to check before passing, still nothing beats turning around. This has been countered with an illegal smoke shield CW tear off's for the fabulous Arai IOM TT helmet

I finally tried the Race Setting this morning, mainly I had not tried it before because I was happy with sport but now having completed a 200+ mile blast around northern Yellowstone this morning this will now be my default riding mode, I like the reduced EBC & smoother mid range power between on off throttle modulation.

New parts arriving next week Sato case sliders w/ shock support, Ft slider and from Shift Tech with the 10% discount Gilles rearsets in black which will be in GP shift pattern. Still thinking about Thamer's STK headers & radiator

Rear Sets & sliders

Today I installed Gilles FXR rearsets & Sato sliders w/ shock support bracket

You have to trim the black plastic electrical holder, I cut out the support section which covers the shock using a junior hacksaw, side cutters & finished off with a file

The rearsets were a fiddle to comprehend the linkage set-up, I went with GP shift, first quick test were great

Right side

I was able to keep the carbon clutch cover by removing to front tab mount

Right side rearset easier install little disappointed I had to use a couple OE parts for the brake side, but they look great, fit fine & feel great from 1st test, I have them on 20mm back @ 20mm up from std position.

Updates:
Gilles r/sets gp shift, swing-arm -2 position, so today I went out for 191mile blast the 1st proper try out following above changes on 1 of just a few really good roads in the whole state on ND Hwy 22 - 23 - 73 loop, 22 runs north south has around 50 miles of spectacular sweeping curves combined with great up and down hills as it traverses the Badlands around the Little Missouri River.
Last night it rain hard had to watch lane position as tanker trucks has drugged dirt onto the road in some sections, everything was going great until I lost a Allen head screw from the Gilles shift linkage, ended up robbing a m6 screw from rear Cyl cam cover hit the road again. I really felt the traction control working on several occasions as a very smooth momentary dip in power & drive, only made a couple of gp missed shifts (down in stead of up) as I'm brain training the pattern
Great roads, great ride, dodged quite a few holiday weekend Sheriff hide outs luckily all near town on the boring straight sections where I know to play it safe.
Returned to town went through all the rearset fasteners with blue Loctite

Now I really need a Radar detector + dual blinder Laser jammer with heads up helmet display ...!!!

....the skully is still not on the market, but it seems to be getting closer - i'm wearing an AGV now......"best helmet i've owned" to date.....AGV Corsa - Racetrack graphics :)
