First able, I love the look of the tricolore, but I could not afford the price tag.

Second able, I truly like the standard suspension. IMO it feels more planted (the front), when pushed hard.

So, we the help of some members, some creativity and trial and errors, I built my tricolore. I am planning to upgrade the wheels in the near future, but I kind of like the from fender in red (a bit more exotic)

Thoughts? (no haters please)

Loved the bike!. Thanks for the kind comments.

A future tricolore owner, got pissed (he doesn't even have the bike yet). I just like the paint scheme.

So, the dilemma is: S Wheels or Standard wheels?

It's kinda like putting a DINAN badge on a bone stock 325is, but it's your bike. Do with it what you will

Looks good

My only issue and I cannot tell from the photos is if you badge it something it is not eg calling a base an S etc

I see your point. Like I mentioned I like the paint schema.

I wanted a tricolore with the Marzocchi suspension. Since Ducati doesn't provide one, I am building it myself. So, it will be a tricolore with an "Upgraded" suspension (lol). All other components will be the same, including the wheels. No harm intended to tricolore owners.

None taken

I am fine with the colors as I said, but think you should leave the "S" off the name, as it is not one. Might as well put an "R" there instead. People will see that and not know it is a base with the color scheme, unless that is your intention.

Neither, I'd go for the Marchesini Forged Magnesium, lighter and better looking than the S wheel IMHO. And .... red fender looks great on the Tri paint scheme!
Nice job .... :)

Pictures of the wheels please

Looks great falco, did you have your plastics painted or did you buy OEM skin?

Only issue I could see is that you have it showing "S" on the skin and it is not an 'S', doesn't have the 'S' options and is misleading.

I remember seeing a dude around town with a stock Jeep Grand Cherokee and getting all of the ground effects, wheels, tires, whold body kit and then putting "SRT8" badges on it and myself and other fellow SRT8 owners weren't flattered.

Bike looks beautiful though, just curious how you got it that way.

they are my stock plastic. I order the sticker kit from Italy (it comes with the S). the kit is "ok". the front are stickers (including the white), side and rear painted with stickers on top (white and red painted), and all clear coated.

The only thing that i will be missing from the original when I and done, it would be the suspension (which I don't want). Based on that logic, if a tricolore owner upgrade/replace their suspension, then it would not be a tricolore anymore?

Guys, I like the bike (that's why I did it). It is a custom bike (art piece in my humble opinion. Did you check the seat?). Work in progress, which I am sharing with my peers riders. Take ideas, give ideas. it is a hobby.

It would always be a Tricolore, as that is on the title. You miss the point, you didn't just use the the Tricolore paint scheme, you put on the Tricolore badging (S with the colors). It is exactly like the Dinan or SRT8 examples. You have the world thinking you spent 10K more than you did. Which if not your intention, is the end result. I am not slamming you for it as I have a base too.

Guess I'm of a different mind than others. I've no problem with it. Base S Tricolore, don't see the big deal they're all 1199s, same engine performance, BUT he maybe lucky enough three or four years from now when the DES starts having issues of not having to spend a fortune to keep it functioning.

Unfortunately for me I'll be experiencing the same issues of the S owners on the mts GT I'm getting once it's out of warranty. ;) BUt at least my base pani suspension won't have issues.

BTW> what seat is that you have on the bike, it looks like it says 1199 in the saddle? Is it one of the luimoto covers?

Not really as a both bikes have the same motor.

lol. The tri is a paintjob nothing more. Guess I cant put corse part on my bike don't want anyone to think is an RS. Your bike,do what u want, looks good.
